Instruction: Attempt the following questions
1. People move from rural areas to urban centers in search of better economic
opportunities and better life. However, this search for economic wellbeing is
usually like a lottery where people buy tickets but only a minor fraction win.
The unfortunate losers often experience unpleasant life and even do not have
access to the basics of life. Comment on the challenges faced by urban areas
in light of such population shifts.
2. a) What is urbanization and why is that urban population growth rates in the
developing countries of the world are higher or greater than they are in the
developed countries today?
b) Why do rural-dwellers migrate to urban centers?
