TITLE: Career Choices

OBJECTIVE: By the end of this group, participants will learn how to fill out college and job applications, as
well as learn about different occupations.
HRS: 1 Hour
MATERIALS: Activity sheets, college applications, job applications, pens and pencils.

Students will learn importance of

developing and planning career goals.
They will also be able to gather
INTRODUCTION information about colleges, trades schools,
5 MINS and occupations.

Future Plans Have each person

complete the following sentence: When I
grow up, I want to work at/as
ICEBREAKER ______________________________
15 MINS because _________________________.
Then discuss what the student needs in
order to make their plan a reality.
 Applications Youth will gain experience
filling out job and college applications.
Gaining Work Experience Youth will
ACTIVITY read a section of the Making It Book and
35 MINS fill out the activity sheets associated with
career planning.

Facilitator will recap important or the most

talked about topics with the group before
dismissal.
