Skopje is the capital and largest city of the Republic of Macedonia. Skopje is
located on the upper course of the Vardar River.

Matka is a canyon located west of Skopje, Macedonia. Covering roughly


5,000 hectares, Matka is one of the most popular outdoor destinations in Macedonia
and is home to several medieval monasteries. The Matka Lake within the Matka
Canyon is the oldest artificial lake in the country.

Vodno is a mountain in Macedonia. It is located in the northern part of the country,


to the southwest of the capital city Skopje. The highest point of the mountain is
at Krstovar peak, on 1066 meters and the submontane is on 337 meters (Middle
Vodno is on 557 m). In 2002, on Krstovar peak the Millennium Cross was built, one
of the biggest Christian Crosses in the world.
The Stone Bridge is a bridge across the Vardar River in Skopje, the capital of
the Republic of Macedonia. The bridge is considered a symbol of Skopje and is the
main element of the coat of arms of the city, which in turn is incorporated in the city's
flag. The Stone Bridge connects Macedonia Square, in the center of Skopje, to
the Old Bazaar. The bridge is also less frequently known as the Duan Bridge .

The Skopje Fortress is a historic fortress located in the old town of Skopje, the
capital of the Republic of Macedonia. It is situated on the highest point in the city
overlooking the Vardar River. The fortress is depicted on the coat of arms of Skopje,
which in turn is incorporated in the city's flag.
The Old Bazaar in Skopje is situated on the eastern bank of the Vardar River,
stretching from the Stone Bridge to the Bit-Pazar and from the Skopje Fortress to
the Serava river. The Old Bazaar falls primarily within the borders of air
Municipality and is a protected national landmark.
