Lesson idea implementation:
This video will be used to introduce our discussion on the topic of the states of matter. Prior to watching the
video, I will ask questions about the states of matter and see who already knows a few things about it. Then as
a class, we will watch the video and the students will be asked to follow along and remember at least one fact

that they learned from the video. Each student will get a chance to tell me one thing that they learned from
the video and we will use those ideas to fill out our flipchart. The flipchart will be used as a reference when
they are making their final product.

The final product will include each group making a movie using the BrainPop Make-A-Movie. This product
will help inform student learning by watching each groups movies and seeing the creativity, accuracy, and if
they really understood the states of matter. Each student in the group will be asked to name one example of
each state of matter. This will help me assess the students based on the examples that they are giving and
explaining their example. I will then conclude the lesson by bringing the class together and reviewing what we
had learned from today. We will talk about why it is important to know the states of matter and what each
state of matter consists of. When the students finish their videos I will then watch them and be able to give
each student feedback based on their answers that they gave in the video.
