WELCOME, PASTOR MYRON! Pastor Myron lives in Lincoln, NE. He is married and has two
children. His wife, Kris, is a para educator in the Lincoln Public school district. His oldest son
is a freshman at UNL. His youngest son is an eighth grader. Pastor Myron has been a pastor
for twenty-eight (28) years. He has served congregations in South Dakota, Illinois, Iowa and
Nebraska. Pastor Myron has been trained for intentional Interim Ministry and has served
seven (7) churches as an interim/transitional pastor. Pastor Myron enjoys teaching, Bible
studies, confirmation and visiting people. In his spare time Pastor Myron enjoys crossword
puzzles, travelling with his family, fishing and trying new foods. If you stop by the church,
please poke your head in and say hi to Pastor Myron.

The NORFOLK FOOD PANTRY
is in FULL SWING for SEPTEMBER and is in
GREAT NEED of donations of
non-perishable food items. Some items to
consider donating: crackers, mac & cheese,
box dinners, pudding, juice and tuna.
Collection boxes are available in several
locations in the Narthex near the front
doors, in the west hallway, and by the
offices. Monetary gifts (placed in an
envelope designated to Food Pantry) may be
placed in the offering plate or dropped off at
the church office.
HELP ST. JOHNS MAKE A DIFFERENCE
IN FIGHTING WORLD HUNGER
We need volunteers to help fill our
teams 10 people per team. On
Sunday, Oct. 15, St. Johns will once
again be participating in the MERCY
MEALS PACK AWAY HUNGER DAY
to be held at Divots DeVent Center.

On Wednesday evening 6-7:30 PM. Bring the
family and enjoy a fun evening of pumpkin
decorating and bowling! (Weather
permitting, events will be on the front lawn.)
October 15th: Mercy Meal Packing, Sunday
@ DeVents Center, Divots. Teams will be
packing meals at 10 AM, noon, or 2 PM your
choice! Watch for registration opportunities.
November 30th: Date Night on Thursday
evening 5 8 PM. Drop off your infants thru
5th graders and enjoy a few hours without
the kids. The perfect time to Christmas
shop or enjoy a romantic dinner! Well
provide dinner for the kids. Watch for an
opportunity to rsvp.
The Evangelism Team is looking for folks who
would like to walk in the NORFOLK LIONS
CLUB PARADE on Saturday, Sept. 30. Meet in
front of the Norfolk High School @ 10AM in your
yellow Gods Work Our Hands shirt (if you have

4 - 70-sheet notebooks of wide- or college-ruled
paper, approximately 8 x 10 ; no loose leaf
paper
1 - 30-centimeter ruler, or a ruler with centimeters
on one side and inches on the other
1 - pencil sharpener
1 - pair of blunt scissors (safety scissors with
embedded steel blades work well)
5 - unsharpened #2 pencils with erasers; secure
together with a rubber band
5 - black or blue ballpoint pens (no gel ink);
secure together with a rubber band
1 - box of 16 or 24 crayons
1 - 2 eraser
Please give new items only.
Please do not donate items with any
religious symbols, messages or your groups
name.
Please do not donate any items
decorated with a U.S. flag, patriotic or
military symbols, or references to the armed
forces, including camouflage.

Do not enclose the kit or any of its

DIAPERS & WIPES DRIVE
During September, watch for a tote in the west
hallway for your donations of diapers and wipes for
Bright Horizons. No public assistance covers the
cost of diapers and babies need 8-12 diapers/day.
All daycare providers require disposable diapers.
Diapers sized 4, 5, and 6 are especially needed.
