Rahma gains confidence.

Kiora Rhama. It was a cold and wet day today so it was great to see
the children choosing different activities. I noticed you sitting at
the art table watching and chatting with Ayra. As I watched I could
see how focussed you were on what you were doing. Every now and
again you would compare your drawing with Ayras however when you
thought she was copying yours you turned slightly and using your left
hand tried to cover over your page. You cant see mine Ayra till I
finished ok?. You said to her and then carried on with your drawing.
Your friendship with Ayra is blossoming and we often see you working
and playing alongside each other. I also noticed that you have a sense
of responsibility and respect for the needs and wellbeing of the
group, including the ability to take responsibility for group decisions.

Contribution/Mana Tangata: Children develop by participating

actively in the opportunities that are available to them. They are
encouraged to learn with and alongside others, using a range of
strategies and skills to play and learn with others.

This month Rahma your individual goal was to gain self-confidence

and learn to use your voice to stand up for yourself and others. I am
happy to say that this goal was reached, you are more assertive and
if you cant sort out a situation you will seek out a teacher to help
you. Mash Allah this is a great strength to have achieved in such a
short time. Your voice is a very important tool and to know how and
when to use it in an appropriate way is a gift from Allah, and that
you have learnt in a quiet and gentle manner makes us all very proud.

What next? We will continue to support you with guidance and

encouragement Rahma, and realise that the teachers play an
important role in helping you initiate and maintain relationships with
your peers.

Children have a strong sense of themselves as a link between past,

present and future.
