using features by filling out a worksheet and guessing other students animal choices.

Introduce the animal groups and defining features for

KT and NT teach Ss how to play the

Animal Race Need:


Vocabulary Game Divide Ss into two teams. Each team gets a stack of Animal Kingdom 8 min
animal pictures. When the KT says go, each team Cards
must send one student at a time to place an animal
picture under the right category on the board. The
first team finished wins.

Animal Hunt
Animal Hunt Ss will be divided into two teams once more. In Need: 20 min
groups, students will write descriptions of two Animal Kingdom
animals on the board using our vocabulary words and Cards
the given scaffolding structures.
When both groups are ready, each group will read
one hint to the other group and then get a chance to
guess what the animal is. The less hints a team needs
to guess the correct animal, the more points theyll
get.

Extra Time NT and KT choose an animal and give hints for extra ~
points.
