1) Viewpoint - Any decision maker or person who is in the position to make the final
recommendations as mentioned in the case.

2) Problem Statement - A problem statement is the description of an issue currently


existing which needs to be addressed. It provides the context for the research study and
generates the questions which the research aims to answer. The statement of the
problem is the focal point of any research.

3) Statement of the Objective - It refers to the desired state or simply where you
want to be and what you want to achieve after the problem has been resolved.

4) Areas of Consideration (SWOT Analysis) - It is a tool for strategic analysis. It is


used to analyze a company and the environment in which it operates. Information in a
SWOT analysis is organized into internal and external factors. Internal factor refers to
an internal look at company operations used to identify what the company does well
and where it needs to improve. It focuses on the current situation while external
factors refer to identifying industry trends and outside forces that could pose Threats
or provide Opportunities for the company. It focuses on the future.

5) Alternate Course of Actions (ACAs) - These are the possible solutions to the
problem identified. Each ACA must stand alone and must be able to solve the stated
problem and achieve the objectives. Advantages and disadvantages of each ACA
should be clearly stated. If the case contains enough information/data, advantages and
disadvantages should be supported quantitatively to minimize bias.

6) Analysis of The ACAs - It refers to the analysis of the chosen Alternate Course of
Actions (ACAs) considering the factors that are stated in the previous SWOT
Analysis.

7) Conclusion - Having a decision matrix will help in guaranteeing that


your research will have the best Alternate course of actions (ACAs) for the problem
indicated in the case.
