Thine,inmyheart,wheremysouldwells,shalldwell.
'Tislikemenow,butIdead,'twillbemore
Whenweareshadowsboth,than'twasbefore.
WhenweatherbeatenIcomeback,myhand
Perhapswithrudeoarstorn,orsunbeamstann'd,
Myfaceandbreastofhaircloth,andmyhead
Withcare'srashsuddenstormsbeingo'erspread,
Mybody'asackofbones,brokenwithin,
Andpowder'sbluestainsscatter'donmyskin
Ifrivalfoolstaxtheeto'havelov'daman
Sofoulandcoarseas,oh,Imayseemthen,
ThisshallsaywhatIwas,andthoushaltsay,
"Dohishurtsreachme?dothmyworthdecay?
Ordotheyreachhisjudgingmind,thathe
Shouldnowloveless,whathedidlovetosee?
Thatwhichinhimwasfairanddelicate,
Wasbutthemilkwhichinlove'schildishstate
