SHOWING SERENE SUBMISSION

November 17, 2022

A state in which we can no longer do what we want to do for we've been

brought under the control of someone---is submission. Is this the someone

whose center is everywhere and circumference is nowhere?Man has invented

this someone to be God who's bound in an inseparable and invisible bond

with us.On the contrary, someone said-"I pay my tribute to that God who has

given me right to deny Him."A holy book declares to submit ourselves to God

and to resist the devil.Another sacred book orders us to surrender ourselves

unconditionally to God's will. But what the Puritanical Salafism says is

interesting---"To love God and be loved by God is the highest form of

submission--the surrender of love is the real and true surrender.."Amor vincit

omnia. Let immeasurable mercy and goodness of God wipe away all dark

stains from the bosom of this planet. The book of Satan roars-"All religions to a

spiritual nature are inventions of man.I'm a Satanist! Bow down for i'm the

highest embodiment of human life."Now we've to realize why R.G.Ingersoll

wrote--"An honest God is the noblest work of man."--Methink, without the

annihilation of inner ego submission in the truest sense of the term is never

possible. We can say-"Make me thy lyre and hold me in thy arms." Dryden's
submission is-"Preserve our souls,O Lord, this day from ill/Have mercy on us

,Lord,have mercy still/As we've hoped do thou reward our pain/ We've hoped
in thee--let not our hope be vain." An exotic gem in the crown of French

poetry--Baudelaire humbly prayed to Venus--"O Goddess,have pity,have

mercy on my sadness and despair."

Man,the biped animal, possesses neither greatness nor an ounce of

gratefulness. This is why man has invented different faiths.Men of one faith

are being enthused to fall on men of other faith and man has ironically named
it 'crusade'.It'll be better for us to pray to give us strength to surrender our

strength to His will with love.Men are faithful but not fool in choosing a faith. All
these faiths stand only on conversion process---by threatening,by creating

terror,by declaring-'convert or die', by showing swords etc...Fortunately there

is a multitude of men who have faith in 'no faith'.They are 'deists'.Is it faith that

hinders a man to become a 'human'.?We feel our heart heavy within us.Once
a Saudi wrote--"I saw the real faces of my faith.I saw the happiness on the
faces of our people because so many infidels are slaughtered so easily.I was

shocked at the gloating of our people for killing innocent kafirs." I having gone
through this felt a cold shudder down my spine.Long ago a Greek philosopher

warned us by saying--"Prophets say many fine things but understand nothing

of what they say.-Truly " Priests of all religions are the same.Perhaps, this is

why Sartre wrote-"Conflict is the original meaning of being-for-others"

Remarked an ancient poet of the East-_Man is above everything else, there is

none superior to man."A Bengali bard sang-"You're a poor farmer, mind of

mine! You've let the precious field of human life sit fallow too long.If only you

had planted right,a golden crop would be yours by now!"

A magnificent example of an eternally modest submission may be --"Help me

bow my head under the dust of thy feet.O, drown all my arrogance in tears."

and "Thou lay buried in my heart,I failed to see thee."When a stream of

tormenting thoughts overflows the mind, the mind should sing-"Give more
ever more pain,give me consciousness,blowing doors,breaking barriers,help
me emerge out.Liberate me"--When the mind is engaged in order to survive

during turbulent times,it requires condolence-"Sorrow persists,death

befalls,separation singes,yet there's peace,yet there's joy,yet stirs the infinite
within"When the world without any cause looks with a stony stare,we may
sing-"Shower thy sun on the sightless,--lavish thy breath on the dead,Thou art

a magical river of love.let thy grace water our heart." When the soul, finding no
other way surrender to a rigorous discipline -I know not-why the poet begins
to ask-"Leave this chanting, singing and telling of beads,Whom dost thou
worship in this lonely dark corner of a temple with doors all-shut?" When a

breeze of saintly serenity soothes the atmosphere-whose heart of hearts

won't like to rouse the innermost soul to surrender to the Omniscient? When
efficient education foresees a deplorable decay of future prospects--with a
glorious and humble submission Byron says-"To thee, my God,to thee I

call!/Whatever weal or woe betide/ By the command I rise or fall/In thy

protection I confide/To thee I breathe my humble strain/Grateful for all thy
mercies past/And hope,my God-to thee again/This erring life may fly at last."
When ancient prudery with avaricious eyes gazes at the demoralizing

luxury,George Herbert's submission is the bee's knees--"Teach me,my God

and King/In all things thee to see/And what I do in anything/To do it as for
thee."

If felicitous expression could have the power to put the lid on eternal hostility
then would urge our poet--"Be firm in your faith,be courageous in action/Keep
your head erect--fear not/Forget all your differences, let all march onward/God
is with us--victory is assured." If a gladdening influence could imprison a

heavenly ecstasy within then Goethe wouldn't assure us thus-"Who never ate
his bread with tears, who never sat through the sorrowful night, weeping upon
his bed, does not know you,O heavenly powers!" If an impatient yearning for
the mercy of God could discover a simple way by virtue of an unconditional
submission then our poet would sing-"Thou hast given so much/O Lord, thou
hast given so much/If so much hast thou given/Thou hast to give some
more/If thee I do not get/I will not go back"--If ambition is shivered into
fragments by the immense affection of poignant doubts and misgivings then

an optimistic poet reminds us-"The stars of night are all within the deep of the
light of day""Truth is hard--and I loved the hard,it never deceives."-"Open up
your soul, look around/Forget all your trivial sorrows/--pack your empty life
with love."

When the few, having no other way,are compelled to surrender to the will of

the leader of pogrom, they then beg for justice on whom they can rely and
whom they have been worshiping for ages.O,God thou shouldst respond! Art
thou really satisfied in the atheist's spontaneous denial?Dost thou take pride

in the theist's abysmal superstitions or ignorance?Dost thou exist in the

routine-wise prayers and express thyself in the meaningless searching of the
wise scholars?Dost thou have a soft spot for the noble and sublime patience
of the poor?-Our poet says-"here is thy footstool and there rest thy feet where

live the poorest, the lowliest and the lost."O,God wilt thou break our heart if a
river of shame sweeps over us for our misdeeds and a starched sterility

swallows our inner souls?Wilt thou zip thy lip if an arduous effort for universal
amity doesn't find the light of success for at least once?A good Samaritan
submits thus--"Thou hast made me known to friends whom I know not-Thou
hast given me seats in homes not my own,Thou hast brought the distant near
and made a brother of the stranger." If we are beside ourselves in an ecstasy
of pleasure, still we won't forget to surrender to thee.

O,God,art thou in the soup,if a rumour crowned with jaundiced opinion stirs a

group of people to be iconoclasts, inspires them to the holy work of burning

temples,perform furious riots,and mass murders?--prays our poet-"When the
heart is parched up and hard, come upon us with a shower of mercy, when
grace is lost, from life, come with a burst of song."If we're unhappy in the
fluctuations of prosperity and adversity,if a flagitious invasion on gullible
humanity brings about downfall of childlike ingenuousness--then wilt thou
show us a ray of hope? A poet asks-"What divine drink wouldst thou have my
God,from the overflowing cup of my life?" Art thou happy as a sandbag when

we're oppressed and disheartened by an all-pervading desolation?Dost thou

hit the sack when a barbarous statecraft with the full support of blind partisans
gives countenance to a proposal of ethnic cleansing in broad daylight? Art
thou miles away when in spite of disgraceful invective against the war-
mongers, indisputable inferences are withdrawn without showing any excuse?
Wilt thou pardon us when helpless anger ,born of sorrow and disappointment
simmers in us?Dost thou keep mum when baseless assumptions convert
even the stoic emotions to besotted bigotry thus resulting a number of

myrmidons?-Let's hope-"If i call not thee in my prayers,if I keep not thee in my

heart, thy love for me still waits for my love."Wilt thou turn a blind eye when
our reservoir of affectionate and tender impulses becomes empty for baseless
truth of a holy book?--Wilt thou be all at sea when sweet words of peace
poetize on sordid irony like a savage satirist? When woebegone humanity day
and night cries for unbiased justice with a view to getting a vivacious future--
wilt thou ignore? The light of my life submits thus-"I've to cleanse myself with
thy mercy/ Else how would I ever get to touch thy feet.We should also

surrender-"Accept us my lord, accept us for this while Let those orphaned

days that passed without thee be forgotten. All that is stained, all that is dark, all
that is adverse --shattering the screen -let all bask in love and peace."

We now pray--O,God,fix all our mis-endeavours and blemishes--Bestow us

the decent ones, which you please. Our mind echoes with the poet-"If it is not
our portion to meet thee in this life,my lord, let us ever feel that we have
missed thy sight--let us not forget for a moment, let us carry the pangs of this
sorrow in our dreams and in our wakeful hours. We may conclude with a bard-

"Human rebirth is the hope of hopes but my coming into the world was just
coming and came to nothing at the end."O.the omnipresent--help me to feel
thy presence in the center of my being before I go to glory.pardon them who
put the fear of God into me.Exeunt omnes. To my dying day I'll remember
those who did me favours and those who did me dirt and those who cut
didoes. The pious cry-"I do not know you, dear, yet my heart rushes out to
thee.--Unknowingly the universe ever comes to take refuge to thee."--Thus I
bared my soul to you all.

DESIRE DISTORTS DECENCY

If it would happen that the icy smile of the mid-day sun would refuse to

LET LAUGH LOUDLY

Laugh has an ennobling and unifying effect on the mind.Laugh you can so
long as you desire-man.But laugh heartily.Laugh closing the windows of grief-
-laugh losing the currency of failure.Mind it that the sincerest laughter must
not show any sign of pain. The outstanding scholars declared-"Laugh and be
merry"--"Laugh and be well." Science says that two structures of the limbic
system are involved in the production of laughter. These are amygdala and
hippocampus. When we smile our brain releases dopamine-serotonin-and
endorphins-which act as a mild pain and stress reliever. Nitrous oxide if
inhaled-produces mild hysteria and sometimes laughter.--15 minutes of
laughter a day can help you burn between 10 and 40 calories depending on
your weight and how tense your laughter is. There was a philosopher who
gave the theory of 'euthymia'.It means possessing a happy spirit or being
cheerful. The goal of life is cheerfulness--the state in which the soul continues
