Section A. Define the following vocabulary (6 pts):

1. Table - A grid of cells arranged into rows and columns.

2. Table properties - Customizable Characteristics of a table such as border color, dimensions,

alignment, and color.

3. Cell dimensions - The size of the table, such as where the border lines are.

Section B. Explain the following (12 pts):

1. Insert a table: To insert a table, place the insertion point at the location you desire. Then, click

the table drop down menu and drag the mouse over the squares to determine the dimensions.

2. Add and delete rows and columns: To do this, right click on a row that is adjacent to the

location and select insert row, or insert column.

3. Modify vertical cell alignment: To do this, simply hover over the border and click/drag to

where you want it to be.

4. Change cell background and cell border: To do this, right click anywhere on the table and

select table properties. From there you gain access to many options.

Section C. Critical Thinking (3 pts):

1. How would you use a table in Science class? What special formatting would you apply and

why?
To fill in an information table in science class, you can use these options and tables. Some

formatting could be colors. For example, you could color code the rows or columns to separate

information.
