Montreal, October 20, 2017 Lace up your skates! The Segal Centre is thrilled to announce that due to popular CAST
demand, the upcoming world premiere of The Hockey Sweater: A Musical will be extending until November 15.
This new musical is based on the short story by Roch Carrier, this original Canadian production features Book and YOUNG ROCH
Lyrics by Emil Sher (Hanas Suitcase, The Boy in the Moon, and Beneath the Banyan Tree) and Music and Lyrics by JESSE NOAH GRUMAN
Jonathan Monro (Composer of No Matter What, Variations on a Nervous Breakdown, and Music Supervisor on The MME CARRIER
Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz: The Musical). The Segal is honoured to continue the legacy of this treasured Qubec CLAIRE LAUTIER
story by reinventing the classic tale into a modern musical for the whole family.

Originally published in 1979, The Hockey Sweater recalls Carriers childhood hockey mishaps during the winter of MICHAEL GIANFRANCESCO
1946. Like many young people in small towns across Qubec, Roch and his friends lived for one thing only: hockey.
They idolize the Montral Canadiens star-player Maurice Richard; each emulating The Rockets every move. When COSTUME CO-DESIGNER
