The Election Primer for Goa

1. Give in to the football fever!

It is time to play football.

It is time for some well-deserved kicks.

It is time to kick the BJP out.

It is time to kick the Congress out.

It is time to kick MGP out.

It is time to kick those party pooping, party hopping individual candidates

out.

Enough is enough.

Be warned.

If not, sure as coconut is as grass is, they will kick you in the teeth.

2. Its time to play rummy.

What happened to that classic card game, rummy.

Its no longer in vogue.

Now we are being dealt the communal card.

What is the communal card?

The local MP with folded hands, saying: We are not perfect, but we are
trying to end corruption.

The local MP with folded hands, smiling: Dont vote in the communal
bastards.

The local MP, preying on your fears: We are your only hope.

Its time to deck them one.

Its time to say: No.

Enough is enough.

We will give someone else the chance.

We will sweep you away.

 3. Where have all the jackals gone?

Do you remember the good ol days.

How ironic.

Now its the good ol days.

And we arent really all that old, are we.

What became of the hill behind your house.

Gone.

What became of the jackals on the hills.

Also gone.

What happened to those rolling paddy fields.

Rolling on.

What happened to the crabs and the catfish in the river.

The coconut trees, oops grass, swaying in the breeze.

Dunno.

But I know where the crabs and the jackals and the catfish are.

Waiting in the wings, to be voted in.

4. Its reggae time.

Its time for reggae.
Get up.
Stand up.
Stand up for your right.
Dont give up the fight.
Dont worry about votes getting split.
Just vote for the clean party.
The new party that is making waves.
Get the rats off the ship.
And then ride the waves.
