Energy Flow-Popcorn Lab

This lab represents the energy flow through each trophic level using the 10% rule, which states
that only 10% is transferred from one organism to another while 90% is lost to heat. The coffee
filter with the most popcorn represents the producers, who start off with 100% of the energy.
The next two coffee filters represents the primary and secondary consumers. The primary
consumer has been transferred 10% and the secondary 1% of the energy from the original
100%. The coffee filter with the least amount of popcorn represents the tertiary consumer who
gets only .1% of the energy from the original amount.
