a. What are your risk factors for heart disease? I have no problem with heart disease.

b. What is considered optimal blood cholesterol concentration? A total cholesterol score of 200
mg/dL or lower is considered optimal.

c. Which of your risk factors are you able to modify? Which are you unable to modify? I have
not any risk factors regarding to heart issue.

d. How many deaths from cardiovascular disease can be attributed to smoking? Smoking death
contributes one in every three death from cardiovascular disease.

e. How can one increase their HDL cholesterol level?


Consume olive oil. Extra virgin olive oil may be more healthful than processed olive oils.
Adding coconut oil to the diet. Eat fatty fish often.
Follow a low-carb or ketogenic diet and eexercise regularly.
Stop smoking and try to loose weight.

f. Why is hypertension called the silent killer?

Hypertension is called the silent killer because most patients with high blood pressure have no
symptoms to alert them to the elevated pressure. But over time, high blood pressure increases the
risk of serious problems such as stroke, congestive heart failure, heart attack, and kidney failure.

g. What is a PTCA? This is the abbrevation of percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty.


PTCA is a non-surgical procedure that relieves narrowing and obstruction of the arteries to the
muscle of the heart (coronary arteries).

h. What is a stroke? A stroke occurs if the flow of oxygen-rich blood to a portion of the brain is
blocked. Without oxygen, brain cells start to die after a few minutes.
