God and opens you up to what God is
saying to you.

(Inward)
Prayer communicating with God (Matt.

Fasting a reminder of the source of all

Study careful attention the reality that
God reveals to us, especially through Holy
Scripture (Luke 2:46)
Disciplines of Service with the Body of Christ

Confession acknowledging ones sin with and to


others in the community of faith (James 5:16)
Guidance giving and receiving direction from others
along the journey with Jesus (Acts 15:8)

Very early in the morning, while it was still


dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off
to a solitary place, where he prayed. (Mark
1:35)
This presents in a visual way how spiritual
disciplines work to conform us to the mind
of Christ.
Quiet Time" (QT) is simply being intentional about
having a conversation with God. This usually
means listening for God's voice by reading the
Bible or devotions, and speaking to God through
prayer. Jesus did this numerous times in the
Gospels, sometimes slipping away all night or in
the early morning, to spend time with his
Father.
How to Do Your Quiet Time?

1. Pray for Insight on how to apply the


passage correctly in your life.
2. Meditate on the verse(s) youve chosen
to study. You can use the S.O.A.P(
scripture, observation, application,
prayer) method
3. Write out an application
4. Memorize a key verse from your study

Find a comfortable place.
Slowly inhale and exhale until you

Read the passage slowly.
Read it again.
Respond in prayer. Write your
reflection. (15 minutes)
