Overview
Sikkim is probably one of the most magnicent places in the world to visit, and this tour allows you to discover its vast
expanses of mountains and hills on a motorbike. You will traverse on winding roads through rich vegetation consisting
of lush forests, towering peaks and pristine rivers. In fact, you will get to see the third highest peak in the world,
Kanchenjunga, which shares land with Nepal as well. This adventure will also give you the opportunity to learn about
the rich cultural and religious heritage of Sikkim, which is centred on Buddhism, and also get to know about its
signicance on the Silk Route. If you are an adventure enthusiast, you will denitely enjoy this tour that will allow you
to explore Sikkim with the wind in your hair and a smile on your face!

Detailed Itinerary
Although our ride will predominantly be through the state of Sikkim, we all
meet up in Siliguri, which is found in the state of West Bengal. On arrival at
the Siliguri airport, you will be greeted by one of our Trip 360 team members,
who will escort you to the hotel. You will check-in to our designated hotel,
Day 1 meet your co-riders, and will be briefed about the adventurous journey you're
embarking on the next day. We'll also take you through some safety
precautions to ensure that all our riders have a great time with no
complications during the adventure ahead.
Meals - Dinner
Get ready for an early start! We will be riding to Pelling via Jorethang along the
mighty Teesta River, which is 309 kilometres long! The towering Himalayas
and Kanchenjunga can be seen from close quarters once we reach Pelling. It's
also forms a base for trekkers and other adventurers, who undertake the
strenuous and arduous treks in West Sikkim. The land around Pelling is still

virgin territory and is bathed with alpine vegetation and numerous waterfalls
line the hillside. In the winter months, Pelling is sometimes covered with a
beautiful blanket of snow.

Our ride for today will take us through beautiful, winding roads that overlook
the valleys and the mighty Kanchenjunga as we make our way to Ravangla.
We have a treat in store for you, as we will be riding to one of the most
historic places in Sikkim, the huge Buddha statue at the Buddha Park, also
known as Tathagata Tsal. This statue stands at 130 feet high and has become

an important place of pilgrimage for Buddhists. There are also many famous
monasteries nearby to visit. We then head to the village of Kewzing, where we
will be spending the night.

Today's journey will lead us to Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim. As we bid
adieu to Kewzing, we kick start the most scenic ride of our trip. We'll make our
way through thick forests, past water crossing and waterfalls. On the way,
we'll even enjoy riding past one of the many famous tea estates of the state.

mighty steeds and prepare ourselves for city life.

It's time to give ourselves and our bikes a break, and we spend the day
exploring the many treasures Gangtok has to oer. If you're looking for some
spiritual intervention, you can head to one of the many Buddhist monasteries

in the state to learn more about the people of Sikkim and their way of life. You
can also appreciate the beauty of nature at the Saramsa Garden and the
Jawaharlal Nehru Botanical Garden. As you're wandering around the city, don't
forget to feast on some traditional thukpa and momos.
We leave the city behind, as we wake up ready for another day of riding. We
make our way from Gangtok to Lachen. The literal meaning of Lachen is 'Big
Pass', and Lachen oers a perfect retreat to relax and escape from the daily
trap of city life. Famous for its vast valleys, Lachen is the base camp for the
two main trekking camps of Sikkim, Chopta Valley and Muguthang Valley. If
you're lucky enough to visit during the summer, you will get a chance to

witness the yak race in the Thangu Valley. Must visit places in Lachen include
Chopta Valley, which is a shutterbug's paradise, and the Gurudongmar Lake, is
one of the highest lakes in the world, which is considered sacred by both
Buddhists and Hindus. .

Enjoy a long ride today and explore some of the sights Sikkim has to oer. We
make our way from Lachen to the gorgeous Gurudongmar Lake. This
magnicent water body is one of the highest lakes in the world, and is
located at an altitude of 5,430 metre. The lake is named after Guru
Padmasambhava, also known as Guru Rinpoche, who was the founder of
Tibetan Buddhism who visited the lake in the 8th century. The next section of

our journey takes us down to Lachung, which is at an elevation of about
2,900 metre and sits at the conuence of the Lachen and Lachung
Rivers.Lachung has been described as the "most picturesque village of Sikkim"
by the British explorer Joseph Dalton Hooker in The Himalayan Journal.

Today, we head back to the capital city of Gangtok. During our long, scenic
ride, we will have an opportunity to stop at a historic destination in Sikkim
called the Kabi Lungchok. This is where a "Treaty of Blood Brotherhood" was
signed between the Lepchas, who were part of the ethnic tribal caste of
Day 8 Sikkim, and the Bhutias, the immigrants from southern Bhot. There are stone
pillars that mark where the treaty was executed. After our historic stop, we
get back on our steeds and ride into Gangtok.

Detailed Itinerary
It's another day in Gangtok and another much-needed rest day for us and our
bikes. We can wake up at leisure today, and enjoy a hearty breakfast as well.
Today we'll undertake an easy hour-long journey to the Rumtek Monastery.
This peaceful Buddhist structure boasts some spectacular architecture that we

can admire as we walk through the lush gardens that surround it. We then
make our way back to Gangtok to get a good night's rest.

We leave Gangtok, and an hour later we nd ourselves at the Nathu La Pass
that connects Sikkim to Tibet. This pass is 4,310 metres above the sea
level, and forms a part of an oshoot of the ancient Silk Road. Gnathang
Valley or Nathang Valley, is popularly called the "Ladakh of East India", and is
Day 10 considered to be one of the most beautiful places on the Old Silk Route.
Surrounded by snow-capped hills and mountain landscapes, the Chinese
Watch Towers on Jelep La are clearly visible from the Gnathang Valley.

It's our last day of riding, and we've got a long journey ahead of us. We start
our bikes and leave the Gnathang Valley as we make our way to Zuluk, a
picturesque village that sits beside a winding road at a height of 10,000 feet.
Zuluk was once an important transit point on the historic silk route from Tibet
Day 11 to India, and can be found on the rugged terrain of the lower Himalayas in
East Sikkim. After this stop, we will ride through the famous loops on our way
back to Siliguri.

As we end our tour, we will have a small ceremony to commemorate all of
your hard work and the adventure that we have just had. Then it's time to say
goodbye to your new friends as you get ready to leave. One of our
Day 12 representatives will assist you to complete your check-out formalities of the
hotel and make your way to the airport to catch your ight home.

Type of Accommodation

Our package includes a decent accommodation (hotel or resort or camp or homestay) which is likely 3 / 4 star
categories, depending on the place. The accommodation is on twin sharing basis. However single accommodation can
also be provided with additional cost.

Type of Food

The food will be primarily Indian along with Continental cuisine and local food.

Clothes to Carry

Appropriate equipment is a component of a successful journey! Travel lightly, try to stay under 45LBS (20 Kgs).
BAGS:
A sailor bag would be perfect, a walker's bag too (without steel bar). You can close it with a padlock if you want to
(Don't forget to tag it before leaving with your address.
A small backpack of 20 liters is advised for daily necessities such as camera, sunscreen lotion.

Smash and Grab: The Annexation of Sikkim by Sunanda K Dutta Ray - This gripping book provides a historical glimpse
into the annexation of the state of Sikkim into India and the steps it took to get there. This book was initially banned
due to a defamation suit and was rereleased in 2013, as the book describes the political turmoil in Sikkim before the
annexation and sheds light on how Sikkim actually became a part of India.
