    The Beardstown MS/HS District Administration received a handwritten bomb threat in the evening. The Beardstown Police Department, Cass County Sherriff’s Department and the Illinois Secretary of State Bomb Squad conducted a search of the entire campus with officers and bomb-sniffing dogs from 8:15 p.m. to 11:15 p.m. and found no credible threat to students or staff. All school activities will resume as usual.

    For Immediate Release:

    Beardstown, Illinois, November 9, 2017:

    The Beardstown MS/HS District Administration became aware of a handwritten bomb threat this
    evening. The Beardstown Police Department, Cass County Sherriffs Department and the Illinois
    Secretary of State Bomb Squad conducted a search of the entire campus with officers and bomb-sniffing
    dogs. The search resulted in no credible threat to the safety of any of our students or staff. Student and
    staff safety is the most important concern and every precaution possible was taken to ensure the
    campus remains safe.

    The search was conducted from 8:15 p.m. and lasted until 11:15 p.m. No students were at risk and
    all school activities are able to resume as usual.

    Thank You to all the law enforcement officers for their quick response.
