Some people like to travel with a companion. Other people prever to travel alone. Which do you prefer?
Use specic reasons and examples to support your choice.

Reasearch has shown that people save their money to spend it on trips rather than on material things. In
my opinion, traveling solo can be a life changing opportunity. I feel this way for two reasons, which i will
explore in this essay.

Firstly, spending =me alone in a new and dierent place than home makes you go out of your comfort zone.
As you relay fully on yourself it forces you to make an eort to be friendly. You learn to share with people
you don t know or that belong to another culture. Moreover, it pushes you to a total new experience by
opening your mind and exploring every aspect of the des=na=on you have chosen. My own experience is a
compelling example of this. Last year, i went by myself to Vail (Colorado) to do a Work and Travel. When i
rst arrive i felt really nervous since it was the rst =me i was traveling with nobody from Argen=na. I
rented an apartment together with two of my co-workers which were from France and Brasil. It was not
easy at rst but i quickly embraced the situa=on and made friends with them. Besides, i learnt their ways of
living, na=onal dishes, language. I also met some local youngsters with whom i spent all of my vaca=on.
Even more, one of them became my boyfriend and i am returning this year to visit him

Secondly, not having a companion when discovering a new place allows you to custom the trip to meet your
own preferences. Therefore, you can have a more exible schedule and even go planning day by day since
you can easily adapt to the circumstances. You can hang out with locals and learn the secret spots and best
ac=vi=es. This way you can fulll beSer your expecta=ons and enjoy. For instance, during my trip i decided a
spontaneous visit to a nearby small village an American friend had recommended me and that it didn t even
appear on the maps. It did not require previous plannica=on nor having to check with friend s schedules. It
was as simple as driving the car, playing the music i wanted and sleeping where i wanted. It was probably
one of the few =mes i was truly by myself but one of the moments i cherished the most.

In conclusion, i strongy star=ng a journey by yourself is a challenge worth to have. This is because it widens
your perspec=ve of the world, and it also lets you enjoy it in your own meassure.
