C2.3.3 Refurbishing Joints:

Construction Joints (Wall & Floor):

Complete stripping of all the existing jointing / sealant from walls and floors.
Seal the saw cuts with appropriate approved mortars (e.g. Sikadur 42ZA or

similar).
Seal the joint with approved hydrophobic bandages to seal the joint as
specified by the supplier which is appropriate for moist substrates.

Expansion Joints (Wall & Floor) (incl. replacing of bond breaking tape):
Complete stripping of all theexisting jointing / sealant from walls and floors.
Repair the joints that are wider than 30mm wide with appropriate approved
mortars (e.g. Sikadur 42ZA or similar) and polymeric closed cell board (Jointex
b. or similar) to recreate the joint to the required size. m 897.6
If required, replace all backing chords in the joints with appropriate sized once
which must be of closed cell material.
Apply the approved sealant system on to the joint as specified by the supplier
which is appropreiate for moist substrates.
 Expansion Joints (Roof Slab):
Installation of joint sealing from the top of the concrete slab.
If required, replace all backing chords in the joints with appropriate sized once
