of how to use the to sign in and then click make a Padlet in pink. Then, choose a format,
tool a wall or graph, etc. He or she will then choose a background theme,
make the post public for anyone else to also post, and name the Padlet.
Begin posting by clicking on the pink + symbol in the bottom right
corner. The student can post words, pictures, and videos onto the wall.
Ideas for how the 1.14 The student will use available technology for reading and
tool can be used writing. The Padlet tool will be of great use for this SOL. The teacher
in PK-12 can facilitate it by having the students go on Padlet and choose the
Canvas format. In this format, the posts, or boxes, can be moved freely.
For this specific SOL, the students can be put into small groups of 4 or 5
and create a short story together. Each student will be able to post on
the wall of Padlet. They can each take turns writing their piece, and then
placing the boxes in order, as the story should go. They could also add in
their own pictures to give detail. This will allow the students to practice
writing, spelling, putting a story in order, and working together.
5.12 The student will classify, a) angles as right, acute, obtuse
or straight. The Shelf format of the Padlet tool will allow students to
categorize angles that are obtuse, acute, right, and straight. Working in
a group of 4, the teacher will make 4 columns labeled acute, right,
obtuse, and straight. The students will then decide amongst their group
who is going to do which description. Under determined column, they
will list qualities of the type of angle. This activity will allow students to
practice typing, describing angles, categorizing, and taking roles.
5.7 The student will write for a variety of purposes: to describe,
to inform, to entertain, to explain and to persuade, d) Write a
clear topic sentence focusing on the main idea. The Stream
format of the Padlet would work great for this SOL. The students would
be typing in the way of a feed, like twitter. The teacher will pose the title
of the Padlet as a discussion, mainly a topic of persuasion. For example,
the teacher may make the title: In one sentence, tell me why homework
should not be given out. The students will then, on their twitter feed,
each type their response with or without their name. The feed will
update live allowing all of the students in the class to see their peers
responses. This activity allows students to learn how to persuade, as well
as use technology to know other students thoughts.
Positives and Positives: Positives to using Padlet for these SOLs include the
challenges of opportunity for children to use a live web tool. The students can all add
using the tool on to the same wall and use the wall together. The Padlet also allows for
different formats such as a wall for brainstorming, a shelf for
categorizing, a stream for debating, and more. Another positive to Padlet
is it is customizable. This allows students to pick their own wallpaper, as
well as what they want to type, or title their collaborative assignment.
Negatives: A negative to using the Padlet tool is there is not an option
to draw, therefore, leaving visuals to images found online or uploaded.

Another negative is a lot of the themes and extra features are only
available if you pay for the upgraded version. Lastly, on the wall format,
you cant move your post to wherever on the wall. It is placed for you,
which can be hard if a student wants to put things in a certain order;
they would have to choose a different format.

challenges of time, the chat option can help students talk to each other, and each
using the tool student apart of the group has a different marker color.
Negatives: The site is in Dutch, therefore it has to be translated, but
sometimes the translate option doesnt show up. Sometimes it takes
