PLANNING A SUCCESSFUL ENVIRONMENTAL CAMPAIGN

1. Figure out exactly what it is you want to be doing. Your cause. Your goal(s). Your expectations.
2. Become informed with good, solid, indisputable science.
i) Fashion a coherent, compelling 'story'
ii) Support your 'story' with THREE key arguments
iii) Ensure your 'story' fits the 'Think Globally; Act Locally' paradigm
3. Decide and create your platform(s)
i) Web page
ii) Social Media
iii) Newspaper and other written media
4. Decide your target audience(s)
5. Decide upon a slogan or catch phrase that will symbolise and identify the campaign
6. Now decide upon the strategies:
i) Be creative
ii) Do something interesting/different/new which will be memorable
iii) Exploit all forms of media and platforms
iv) Employ really good visuals - simple, straightforward, easy messaging
7. Decide upon date(s), time(s) and places(s)
8. Is funding necessary? How will funding be achieved?
9. Do not be conflictive or polarising
10. Anticipate responses, even rejection
11. Can you go 'beyond'??? Awards? Recognition? Public media?

AND WHEN ALL IS WELL PLANNED .......... THEN......
