I am writing this letter because I am applying for a full-time position to be a police officer for the
Goodyear Police department. I have zero experience in the police department due to the fact that,
I am a newly graduate from Arizona State University and had an internship with the Arizona
State University Police Department for approximately 6 months. I believe I will obtain the
proper skills and duties because of my internship.
I am in tip top physical shape and have been training to pass the physical test for the police
academy. In addition, I have gone on numerous ride-alongs and learned the way of patrolling in
cities like Tempe, Gilbert, Goodyear, and Buckeye.
Because I have concentration in Homeland security I will be equip with knowledge of terrorism
prevention and additional policing classes. I have also been prepped by a former officer and
detective for Mesa PD Coy Johnston, and a current ASU Sargent Officer Epps. Although I will
be a new officer I believe I am equipped with best knowledge possible for rookie officers
