New Grad Residency Program

Hospital
1234 Hospital St.
Hospital City, CA

To Whom It May Concern:

It is with great enthusiasm and desire that I apply for the new graduate nurse residency
program on the cardiothoracic and medical intensive care units. Being raised in Southern
California, as soon as I realized that nursing was the career path I was meant to take, I
knew that I wanted to spend my career in Los Angeles.

In December, I will graduate with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree from the
University of Arizona. Throughout this rigorous nursing program, I have found a passion in
providing care to people that are critically ill. This past summer, I further enhanced my
nursing skills on a step-down unit as a part of a 400-hour nursing externship at the
Southern Arizona VA Health Care System. In addition, during my high acuity clinical
rotation, I was exposed to several different ICUs including cardiovascular, trauma and
neuro at Banner University Medical Center. Currently, I am completing 188 hours of clinical
time as a part of my final nursing school preceptorship on the medical intensive care unit at
St. Josephs Hospital in Tucson, Arizona.

As an employee of your hospital, I will dedicate my nursing practice to the hospitals vision
of healing humankind by delivering acts of kindness, striving to decrease suffering and
improving the health each patient I come in contact with. Every day I come into work, I will
build on the knowledge I have developed in nursing school and be humble in my practice,
knowing that there is always room for learning and growth.

Thank you for taking the time to review my resume and consider me for employment in
your new graduate residency program. I look forward to speaking with you in the coming
weeks. I can be reached by email at taylorromero@email.arizona.edu and by phone at

Respectfully,

Taylor Romero
