My main area of research is in fabrication and caracterization of magnetic hydrogel

CMC/PVA with MnxFe3-xO4/actived carbon as a filler. The purpose of this research is to

develop magnetic hydrogels based on composites of magnetic particles (MnxFe3

xO4/activated carbon) and hydrogels (CMC/PVA). CMC and MnxFe3 xO4/activated carbon
were chosen due to their well-established biocompatibility, high magnetic properties, and
good dispersion. Magnetic particle MnxFe3 xO4/activated carbon is synthesized using natural
iron sand that was extracted with permanent magnet by coprecipitation method and magnetic
hydrogel is synthesized by freezing thawing method. Next, XRD, SEM, FTIR, VSM, and
BET are used to investigate its particle size, morphological structure, elemental content,
magnetic properties of magnetic particle and porosity of both magnetic particle and ferrogel
respectively.
I am also interested in understanding the nanoparticle distributions, pore sizes, and
elemental composition of the sample by using Micro x-ray fluorescence (XRF). Meanwhile,
that machice are not available in Indonesia. Therefore, by implementing characterization
using XRF at SLRI Thailand, it will very support in finishing my research. Using XRF,
most complex molecules and specific elements of MnxFe3-xO4/actived carbon will be
determined. The element distribution from XRF data will be also correlated with the
magnetic behavior of MnxFe3 xO4/actived carbon
By following The 6th ASEAN Synchrotron Science Camp, it will become worth
opportunity for me regarding to synchrotron in more comprehensive especially in completing
my undergraduate thesis project.
