To show through slides, handouts and lecture that this a serious matter that should not be taken lightly. To teach that the person being bullied can be affected physically, mentally and emotionally, and have lasting effects. The goal isto teach what bullying is and how to make people aware of what it ean do to someone. To raise awareness soit can be stooped. Materials/Equipment: Handout of feathers stories video of “How does bullying affect a person” ((o be used with PowerPoint). Activity: crumpled paper lesson. Handout of “common views and ‘myths about bullying.” Music video, Bars and Melody- Hopeful. Instruction: ‘© Start out by asking the class if they know what bullying is and if they have ever been bullied. ‘+ Explain objective: Bullying is very serious and should not be taken lightly. Leondre wrote the song Hopeful because he was being bullied in school and he got tothe point that he dida’t want to goto school anymore. He would just ‘write down his thoughts and be came up with tis song to hopefully stop people from bullying others. Closure: Schools today should take bullying serious as long as there is strong evidence of someone being bullied and not just he said/she said stuf. My co-workers Son bas a bullying charge on his ecord because ane of his fellow choerlcaders said that her friend said that he was making fun of her and calling her names all the time, same thing happened with him and his fiends. The gis father fled a complaint and my co-worker filed a complaint but because he isthe boy, he got the charge. I7he ever gets another one, he willbe expelled fom school. Now the {oo are hes frends. There shouldbe laws to old everyone accountable and to make the children fee safe be at school
