iFixit Charter Agreement

To: Dr. Bruce

From: Care & Repair
Date: December 7th, 2017
Subject: Charter Agreement Update

Team Members:
Project Manager - Jenell Chase
Editing Manager - Danica Dunville
Photography Manager - Samantha Esqueda

Team Objective
Our mission is to provide detailed and informative repair guides regarding
the dismantling and reconstruction HP Chromebook q-14 to align with iFixits
mission of global e-waste reduction. Care & Repair will strive to provide clear and
concise do-it-yourself instructions accompanied by high quality descriptive
images highlighting the areas of focus. To accomplish this we will first carefully
research and analyze the product in order to become familiarized with
components and features. Next, we will break each component down into
specific areas of interest highlighting troubleshooting alternatives and repairs.
Finally, we will categorize each subject into directional features to outline
descriptive guidelines through the process of completing such repairs. As a team,
we will collaborate and share responsibilities equally, while also concentrating in
our specified areas of focus to demonstrate our individual strengths and provide
the best results possible.

Individual Responsibilities
Project Manager - Jenell will serve as the teams project manager, and
she will be responsible for the groups organization and management of all
goals while adhering to the teams timeline as illustrated. Jenell will also
coordinate all processes regarding iFixit submissions as well as monitor
and alleviate any issues within the group.
Photography Editor Samantha. Samanthas role as photography editor
will serve to manage all photography and design elements within the
project. She will operate as the groups photographer, and will be
responsible to capturing and editing all images necessary, as well as
designing the team logo and document spreadsheets.
Editing Manager - Danica. Danicas role will be perfect all documents
submitted to Dr. Bruce and iFixit by carefully examining and altering each
submission to adhere specified grammar policies and any textual styles
required prior to submission.

All members of Care & Repair agree that we will strive to adhere to the
requirements of our specified tasks. We will coordinate our times accordingly to
honor ALL team members availability, and contribute equally to the overall final
product.

Operating Guidelines & Expectations

Group meetings will be scheduled in advance to comply evenly with each
team members availability.
If one of us cannot attend a meeting, a group text message should be sent
with at least an hour notice.
A reminder text message should be sent the night before a meeting by the
project leader, and should be responded to by all team members for
confirmation of attendance.
Meetings will typically be held from 9am until the start of class on Monday
or Wednesday excluding specified meetings for photography shooting and
web page building.
Internal and external deadlines are to be closely adhered to. Internal due
dates will include dates and times and can be referenced via the provided
timeline.
Assignments are to be emailed to the group as a whole no later than
(NLT) due date.
The editing manager will outline specific deadlines in which all assignment
contributions will due to her to allot reasonable time for editing. (These
times will be outlined in the group timeline).
All communication regarding the project as a whole will be corresponded
via group text and should receive a response NLT twelve hours prior to
submission.
All emails regarding the group will include each team member, and a
response is required NLT one day prior to submission.
All team members agree to check their CSUF emails ATLEAST once
every other day to ensure proper communication.
Decision-making is a group affair, but the Project Manager may use her
personal insight to make the decision she feels is best for all.
Questions should be directed towards team member tasked with the most
relevance to the question at hand. (For example, layout and photography
questions shall be directed towards Samantha for proper insight). If the
team member cannot provide an adequate answer for the question, we
will work as a group to find a solution.
Resolving Conflicts
If communication between team members is interrupted, we will discuss it
prior to or following class.
If a conflict occurs between two group members, they should all come
together to bring the problem to the attention of the third member. If the
problem is not easily resolved, a discussion including all group members
may occur. The Project Manager (or neutral party) should lead the
discussion in a productive manner. If there is a problem with the Project
Manager that remains unresolved, the team members are at liberty to
seek a higher position of authority (Dr. Bruce).
If there is a disagreement with the content of the iFixit project, we will take
a group vote, with reasons why, to decide what is the best way to go about
resolving the issue (Markel 2015).
According to Resolving Team Conflict: Building Stronger Teams by Facing
Your Differences, We should discuss benefits for the team and put
personal opinions and feelings aside during conflict (Manktelow et al.,
2016).
If any other issues occur that cannot be resolved, all team members will
meet with Professor Bruce to discuss further action if necessary.

Timesheet:
The Editing Manager will submit all final drafts to Titanium or iFixit before
the posted deadline. The Project Manager is responsible for any submissions
prior to Editing Managers final review. Each individual submission will be
submitted to a Google Docs draft for the Editing Manager to review no later than
Sunday morning prior to the deadline. Photography will be conducted during
scheduled group meetings and the photography manager will be responsible for
uploading all images to the required documents.
