Dear Sir / Madam:

Greetings!

We, UPHSI Grade 11 students are conducting a research entitled Gang Violence:
Transforming Gangs through Civic Works to reduce their Involvement in Lawless Acts.
This research aims to divert and redirect the actions and behaviors of the youth engaged in
gangs that participates in lawless activities to participate in civic works that can be helpful to
the community. The research would also focus on the prevention and intervention strategies and
programs of government organizations that would help reduce youth involvement in lawless
activities within Iloilo City.

In connection with this, we would like to request permission from your good office to allow us
to conduct an orientation on the date and time most convenient to you. The orientation would
be open for all freshmen students of the school who are most likely sought to be recruited by
gangs. The 30 minute-1 hour orientation will be facilitated by the U.P. High School Students
and a representative from the Women and Children Protection Desk of Iloilo City Police Office.
We would discuss and explain Gang Violence and Prevention of Gang recruitment.

We would like to conduct the activity on the first or second week of classes so that we can
assure you that classes will not be disrupted while we conduct the said orientation.

We hope for your favorable response regarding this request. Thank you very much!

Very truly yours,

ROCHELLE ASTREID V. RAYMUNDO
