As a current English major and creative works enthusiast, my interest was sparked when I
saw the online hiring ad for a University Relations copy writer and editor. University
Relations seems to be the undergirding foundation for much of the progress that goes on at
this school. I would like to be part of that progress as a copywriter and editor for your
department, and I believe that my skills can measure up to the skillset you have presented.
I have gained this skillset by taking challenging and higher-level writing courses in the
English and humanities departments. Not only have I passed those courses with high
marks, but I have also been invited to include some of my writing in writing conferences. I
have combined my writing abilities with design aptitudes acquired through a 2-D art
cluster. As you will see in my resume, I also have maintained and have been hired to jobs
where I have shown and been promoted because of my attention to detail and multitasking
abilities.
Beyond these skills, your mission lines up with my own professional interests for several
reasons. Your department seems to emphasize how excellence is required because of the
scope of publication, and how essential it is to the future success of this university. Further,
it does not only represent the school, but the worldwide church. I love this school and
church, and I want to promote them in a way that will allow students and prospective
students to really benefit from these institutions as I have.
