Course Objectives:
1. To study the use of newton-raphson method to design an electric circuit
2. To study the use of matrix processing methods for performing loop and node analysis in electric circuit
networks

4. To understand the spectral analysis of signals as decomposition of complete set orthogonal signals
5. To study the electrostatic field problems using numerical methods

Course Outcomes:
Students will be able to
1. formulate electric circuit design problem using nonlinear equations and solve them using bisection , false-
position, newton-raphson method
2. formulate circuit analysis problem using matrix inequalities and solve them using Gauss Jordan method
3. formulate the power transfer in a circuits & electromagnetics as an optimization problem and solve them
using numerical methods
4. expand a time domain signals, sequences as a linear weighted combination of complete orthogonal set of
complex exponential signals/sequences
5. use the periodicity property of exponential sequences to compute the DFT of a sequence using FFT
algorithm
6. solve electromagnetic boundary value problem using newton /brent method.
7. Formulate the computation of transient current in a circuit as a mathematical problem and solve using
Runge-Kutta method
8. Solve the electrostatic boundary value problem using numerical methods
