Problems for NC State Math Contest and ARML Practice

The following topics are ones that seem to be favorites of the writers of many contests, and are topics that are
often overlooked in the normal curriculum. For each topic you will find some brief introductory material
followed by problems, some of which are from previous NC State Math Contests or from ARML
Competitions. I have tried to note the source whenever possible. If you find a problem that looks like it
came from a previously published contest and I have not cited the source, please email me so that I can give
proper credit. Also, if you run across a really good problem that seems to fit into one of the following
categories, please forward me the problem, solution, and source and I will add it to the topic.
