The Mapua University Profile

A. School Profile and Background

Mapua University, then Mapua Institute of Technology, is the biggest engineering
school in the Philippines. Standing for 91 years, it has forged its mark in the field
of education. The institution was founded by Don Tomas Mapua, the first
registered fFilipino Architect in 1925 wherein the first course offerings were BS
civil engineering and BS Architecture. The university is situated in two locations,
the first one in Intramuros, Manila and the other one is in Makati.

The university moves to fine-tune its teaching standard with a series of
