SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the 48-minute discussion, the students should be able to:

 identify the verb tenses that are used in the given sentences; and,
 write the correct verb tense in composing sentences; and,
 convert one verb tense to another tenses.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

 Topic “Verb Tenses”

 Time Allotment : 48 minutes
 Instructional Materials: Manila Paper, Pentel Pen, Cartolina

III. PROCEDURE

A. Motivation

 Think About:
The teacher will post on the board a Manila Paper containing the words, “People change”.

 The teacher will ask the students what are the factors responsible for the change in people.
 The teacher will let the students answer and later on provide clue for them to get the correct
answers—namely, time and people.

B. Presentation

 The teacher will connect the topic from the motivation saying,
“Just as people are changed by time and people, the same is true with verbs. Time likewise
changes them, and so does the number of persons”
 The teacher will post on the board the twelve tenses of the verb with corresponding examples.

C. Analysis

 The teacher will ask the students:


“How does the form of the verb change in the past perfect tense”?
“What grammatical formula is shown in the present perfect continuous?
“In what ways does a simple past differ with the present perfect tense?

D. Abstraction
Valuing:
 The teacher will present the summary of the discussion and explain the importance of the topic in
their daily life.

D. Practice

 The teacher will have the students go into the board and put the verb forms according to its
respective category

IV. Assessment

The teacher will give a 10-item quiz on verb forms. The student will give the right verb inflection
according to verb classification.
