EQUIPMENT (MILL DEPARTMENT)

1. Cane Knives
- These are motor driven metal knives used in the cane preparation. The mill
department has 3 sets of cane knife with varying sizes.
2. Cane carrier (slats conveyor)
- They are means of transporting the canes from stage 1 to the next stage. There 2 cane
carriers in the Mill Department.
3. Mill
- These are primary used for cane crushing for juice extraction. There are 5 mills; 4
mills are steam (live steam) driven while the other one is motor driven.
4. Bagasse main elevator
- This delivers the bagasse (cane residue) to the Boiler and Water Supply Department
for boiler fuel.
