This is part 2 of creating graphene supercapacitors. This

goes over the preparation of the disc and graphene oxide
so they can be Lightscribed. I also go on to describe the
types of supercapacitors. I forgot to mention the
electrolytes I intend to use, which will probably be
Polyvinyl Acetate and/or Polyvinyl Alcohol, which are
common for such an experiment. Read more at

Graphene is supposed to be 1 atom thick.... not

BR
hundreds/thousands of atoms thick like in this
video.   You have carbon powder=GRAPHITE... not

Graphite is just a bunch of graphene sheets
stacked together.  Yes, it isn't 1 atom thick, but
it is good enough to make super capacitors.

Graphene  can be many many layers of 1 atom
thick carbon sheet arrangement while there is
not many inter-layer cross-link . if it was only 1
atom thick it would be transparent . the 1 atom

When you glue particles together, you end up
with particles with glue between them. That
makes it ine cient.

I've been trying to reduce graphene oxide to
graphene on an PET lm coated with Indium-Tin-
Oxide (ITO) on a HP lightscribe DVD burner myself
for potential use in small, exible solar panels that
you can stick on clothing.
There are also applications for this technology to be
used in advanced optics, as 1064 nm Nd:YAG lasers
have shown to be modulated by graphene-ITO
interfaces
http://www.hindawi.com/journals/jnm/2014/921896/

which could allow for their use in ultra thin laser q-

switches, hence making exible, high power lasers a
possibility.
This could increase the power density of laser
beams and reduce the bulky optical equipment. This
would have huge implications for ber optic
transmission and optical computation.

In the not too distant future you could have a thin

lm that could act as a high power laser light source,
a laser absorber and an array of diode detectors all
rolled into one.

It uses IR laser light to reduce the layer
of dark brown graphene oxide into silver blackish or
transparent graphene, depending on the solution.
There are even printers that print with graphene ink
but and jet hot toxic hydrogen iodide gas for a
reducing agent. Even ascorbic acid (vitamin C) can
reduce GO (graphene oxide). Even electricity, or high
temperatures will convert it into conductive
graphene.  This lightscribe method is awesome, hi5
and kudos for DIY at-home nanotech! :)) Ordering lab-
quality graphene oxide can cost loads, but safely
making it is somewhat di cult depending on the
method, but making it to highly-conductive graphene
is tricky, but doesn't cost you very much at all.
However, you just have to be good with chemistry to
safety and correctly make a good quality GO solution
(suspension) for this.

think of things after I've posted. GO can be also

part of the scienti c process is publication of your
