A plastic manufacturing unit. Plastic wares….we establish the unit.

SCENE 2: OWNER’S CABIN DAY/INT

We are into the owner’s cabin…we introduce..Salauddin Shaikh..(48)…doing namaz…he


never misses the namaz either at home or at work. We establish him properly as he is in
his prayer. His close as he prays…FADE OUT

PSI and constables walks across the unit..CUT..they are with Aslam Warsi..(32)..the

SCENE 10: OUTSIDE SALAUDDIN’S KOTHI NIGHT/EXT

A decent well tho do Kothi…we travel with Salauddin Shaikh..rolling his suitcase..a
decently big one….turns..at the gate we see the front of a cab..the headlights on..we
cannot make out the color..but can see it’s a vehicle waiting..(Salauddin: Khuda
Hafiz..Nisha…Nisha: (at the door of the house)..Khuda Hafiz..pahunchte hi sms kar
dena…Salauddin: Haan bilkul..)..he opens the gate of the compound and exits..camera
moves to Nisha watching…the cab reverses and leaves..we see the headlights
move….FLASH OVER (**Salauddin’s car would be parked outside….On the side..a hatch
back car)

Close of Nisha..(Nisha: Taxi thi itna pata hain…PI: Ye koi regular taxi thi..jo wo hamesha
bulate ho..kahi travel karne ke liye…Nisha: Nahi…itna pata nahi hain…PI: aap apne bhai
ke saath business mein partner hain Mirajji?..Miraj: Nahi..mera ready made garments ka
showroom hain…par Salauddin would definitely going for some business purpose
only?..PI: Par wo Mumbai gaye nahi aisa lagta hain..because the next day also 20 th there

Gayab bhi kaise hue aur kyon hue hamein abhi tak pata nahi Tanveer. Random loot ki koi

Outside the unit..a few workers..about 8-9 people..along with Aslam Warsi..talking to
Constable Pandey….and two other constables..(Aslam: Bahut hi nek aur saaf dil insaan
hain…Salaauddinbhai…sab ka bhala hi chaha hain aur kiya bhi hain…Worker 1: Eid ho ya
Diwali ho…ham sab ka bahut khyaal rakhte hain…Pandey: Chalo wo theek hain..ye
batao..Aslambhai…koi regular taxi wala tha kya…jo..unko travel ke dauran drop karta
ho….kyonki unke phone records mein tho unhone kisi bhi taxi waale se sampark kiya
ho…aisa dikh nahi raha hain….Aslam: Aisa tho hamein pata nahi…unhone kabhi bataya
nahi..aur khud se hamein pata nahi…)…

SCENE 21: OUTSIDE A MASJID DAY/EXT

We see a Masjid official…52 year old Mushtaq Mohammed…talking to Pandey and the
two constables..(Mushtaq: Ye kaisa sawaal hain bhai? Pandey: Seedha sawaal hain…
Mushtaqbhai..Salaudinbhai ka kisi se koi ranjish..Mushtaq: Bhai Yahaan wo..namaaz
padne aate hain…aur kaafi regularly aate hain…bahut hi religious hain wo..

PSI trying on his cell phone..message..phone is switched off…he cuts looks at the phone

SCENE 23: PI’S CABIN DAY/INT

Harish the cab driver…standing..looking at PI..(Harish: Sir..have checked all taxis in the
Manzil nagar area…sir udhar se tho kisine ye Salauddin Shaikh ko 19 ki raat ko pick up
nahi kiya…PI: Baaki area ke taxi drivers se bhi pata kar…Harish…kahin doosre area ka
taxi driver ho..Harish: Sir..lekin koi phone number tho hoga..inhone taxi waale ko kisi bhi
zariye se bulaya tho hoga..)..

CUT..PSI with PI..(PSI: Sir ye ajeeb baat..hain..Salaudin ke phone records mein 19 taarik

SCENE 26: KOTHI NIGHT/INT

CAPTION: 19TH AUGUST 2016…WE SEE..Salaudin coming out his room..with his
suitcase….Tanveer..enters frame..(Tanveer: Abbu…should I drop you at the airport?
Salaudin: No..beta..the taxi will be here shortly….)….Nisha enters frame..(Nisha: Aap kab
tak laut rahe hain…Salaudin: 23 ki subah ki return flight hain Nisha..urgently nikalna tha
isliye bata nahi saka tum logon ko…)…he talks as he moves to the door..FLASH OVER

SCENE 27: INSIDE KOTHI DAY/INT

Camera pans to PI..(PI: But in his phone records it’s clear that he hasn’t booked any
taxi..and not even got a call from a taxi guy that he has reached..normally aisa hota
hain..taxiwala phone karke bolta hain bhai pahunch gaya hoon…)..PI holds out the phone
records..Miraj looks into it..(PI: this is 444678987..is the last number called from
Salaudin’s phone and this number is switched off…SAlaudin ka last location..jahaan
phone switched off hua hain..is…Nupurganj..which is on the way to the airport…Nisha:
Kiska number hain ye?..PI: Ye hamein abhi pata nahi..par last call ispar hua tha aapke
shohar ke phone se..aur ye phone bandh hain…that gives out a very strange and
suspecting signal…)..Nisha..Tanveer..Jameela..Miraj..Aamir all puzzled and shocked..(PI:
We have checked almost every taxi guy in the area…no one has come here that night…

Nisha..(Nisha: (looks up)..Par taxi nahi thi tho aur kaun ho sakta hain? Aur..ab tak

SCENE 28: LANES- CHAWL LANES DAY/EXT

Lucknow feel..we see Pandey on his bike..close shot..as he traverses on his


bike..CUT..Pandey talking to a chawl wala…Pandey is on his bike..he is holding the phone
record..of the number…444678987…(**it’s in the name of a Sushil Kumar..a photo also
there..)..the man nods in the negative..CUT..Pandey seated on his bike..showing it to a
kirana shop guy outside his shop…the shop owner thinks..says nahi..ye address tho nahi
pata….

CUT..Chawl lanes…Pandey..moving through the lanes….his close on the bike…a build up


as he traverses the lanes…

SCENE 29: PI’S CABIN DAY/INT

PSI walks in..(PSI: Sir there is something very suspicious in this Salaudin missing
case..the number…444678987..is on a fake address..dont know the identity of the man
on whose name the number has been procured…PI: That should be fake too…which
makes one thing for sure…there is something more in this missing case…he has been
forced to go missing…PSI: Iss phone number…444678987…ye ek hi call aaya hain..which
is strongly pointing to the possibility of a crime….aur aaj 5 din hogaye…we don’t have
one single clue of Salaudin’s where abouts…PI: Gayab hua banda itna chup tabhi hota
hain..ya jab usse bolna nahi hota khud se kahin chala gaya ho..ya phir who bol hi nahi
sakta…)…

SCENE 30: A CHAWL LANE NIGHT/EXT

Abrupt cut from the above scene..we track back with the close of …41 year old Lokesh
Maurya ..a lower class man..looking very disturbed…(Lokesh’s voice: Roz mach mach hota
hain ghar mein…dimaag kharaab hojaata hain mera..main bas..ghar chodd ke nikal jaata
hoon…)…This would be all the while he is walking…

CUT..Another chawl lane..leading out to an open area..we see Lokesh carrying a black
polyethene..liqour inside…he is walking ..still looking troubled..(Lokesh’s voice: Seedhe
jaakar theke se ek bottle khareedta hoon…aur apni regular jagah pe jaake baith jaata
hoon..)..

SCENE 31: A BROKEN STRUCTURE NIGHT/EXT

Lokesh sits down takes out the liquor bottle..starts drinking…he is carrying a little
singhdana also…munches and keeps drinking…a little relaxed feel as he drinks..(Lokesh’s
voice: Baithke ghataghat daaru peeta hoon…dimaag thanda hojaata hain..then I just lie
down at this place..chain ki neend sone ke liye..)…a drunk…Lokesh..lies down and goes to
sleep….camera moves to his close..as sleeps peacefully….ABRUPT CUT

SCENE 32: OUTSIDE THE BROKEN STRUCTURE DAY/EXT

We see Lokesh..standing..with PSI Dhiraj Khanna..and two three constables…a police


vehicle also there….(Lokesh: Subah dimaag shaant hone pe ghar jaata hoon..saab…aaj
bhi aise jaa raha tha..tab ye suitcase dekha maine idhar jhaadiyon..mein)..camera moves
to the suitcase..the red suitcase..we see a constable opening the suitcase….it’s in the
bushes..lying hidden….as the suitcase opens we see the dead body of
Salaudin..decomposed..in the same clothes as was described…blood clotted near his
head..he has been hit at the back…of his head…blood in the suitcase…a very ghastly
visual..his nose has been cut…(**this nose cut has to be prominent).PSI Dhiraj comes
around..looks at the body….a scared Lokesh telling the constables..(Lokesh: Maine khol
ke dekha tho ye dead body tha..main ghar bhaaga..meri biwi boli police ko inform kar
do..tum roz udhar jaake baiththe ho..tum pe hi aayega..saamne se bata do..tho main bata
diya saab…)..PSI looking at the body..turns to the constable near him…(PSI: Isnt this the
missing man..whose photo had come to our police station..Constable: (Peering at the
body)…Lagta tho wohi hain saab..)…PSI looks inside the suitcase…a portion of the nose…
on the side….

(**LOKESH’S VO IN THE EARLIER SCENE IS THE PRELUDE TO HIS NARRATING TO THE


COPS- SHOULD NOT MENTION SAAB IN THE VO. THIS VO AND IT’S VISUALS SHOULD
HAVE AN UNCANNY FEEL TO IT- IT CUTS TO A DIFFERENT STORY- AND THEN
CONNECTS TO THIS MAIN STORY)…

SCENE 33: HOSPITAL CORRIDOR DAY/INT

Track back with Miraj..Nisha and Tanveer..all three shaken up..main PSI leading them….a
long take as we establish their shock and anguish….

SCENE 34: POST MORTEM ROOM DAY/INT

PSI walks in..with Miraj..Nisha and Tanveer coming behind him..PSI walks to the
body..removes the sheet…they all look…taken aback..the nose has been stitched back to
the body….(PSI: THE BODY was found in the red suitcase..in Nupurganj area…close to the
airport)....Nisha shaken up….Tanveer broken..Tanveer rushes to the body..abbu..abbu..he
shouts..Nisha is feeling nauseated..she is about to swoon…Miraj goes down..(Miraj:
Nisha..Nisha..)…close of Tanveer crying…..(**THE STITCH AT THE NOSE HAS TO BE
VISIBLE)

SCENE 35: OUTSIDE MIRAJ’S KOTHI DAY/EXT

Constable Pandey with a photographer..two three constables also there…forensic team


also there….we see a car parked…Miraj’s car..a hatchback car..photos being taken of the
car…the tyres..the door opened..inside checked..we see forensic officer Mukesh Rathi
(35) checking the insides of the car..camera pans to Jameela standing shaken up..Aamir
by her side..(**they have heard the news of salaudin’s death…)…Aamir is also agitated..
(Aamir: Aap log kar kya rahe hain..Pandey: Photo le rahe hain..Aamir: But why our car?
Are you suspecting that it was not a taxi and it was our car?...Pandey: Murder hua hain…

SCENE 36: PI’S CABIN DAY/INT

An angry Miraj gets up..(Miraj: I Just got the news of my younger’s brother’s death..and
you are inquiring with me? Inquiring? Aap saaf saaf mere pe shak kar rahe hain?)..PI gets
up..(PI: Aap chote bhai ke death hui hain. Par wo murder hain. Aur jo information
hamare paas hain wo ye hain ki…aapke aur aapke bhaisaab ki ek three BHK flat hain…jo
rent par hain…Miraj: Tho? Is that enough for me to kill my younger brother? Rent
money? That’s a flat we both bought after we sold our ancestral kothi. Uska rent ham
dono share karte the. PI: Share karte the? Ab bhai nahi raha. Uski vidhwa aur 20 saal ka
beta shayad ladd nahi payenge uss share ke liye. ..Miraj: Bakwas kar rahe hain
aap..dimaag thikaane nahi hain aapka…ek 25000 ki rent ke liye I will get my brother
killed? …Just for that rent..PI: Nahi. Ghar ki keemat kaafi jyaada hogi..posh area mein
hain…Miraj: Salaudin mera chota bhai tha..aap jabardasti khured rahe hain…jahaan kuch
