This is intended as a GM tool to help come up with ideas for quests, especially side quests, for their
campaigns. This is the paper version of the Java program intended for the same purpose. It is
recommended that the program is used instead, because this version can be a bit cumbersome for some
people’s taste, but this version is included for those who might not have as regular access to a computer
when planning campaigns and for those who simply prefer the randomness of dice over that of the
computer.
As you will see this doesn’t fill in all the blanks and will still require the imagination of the DM to
implement. Using this system, you will get a few words describing the issuer of the quest, their
motivation for giving it, the type of quest, and the general type of location where the quest objective
can be found. Every outcome may not make sense or be to the liking of the DM, but the hope is that
even then they will give the DM ideas and in any case you can always reroll if the results aren’t working
for you. As an example of what the results will look like after you roll, the quest might read:

Needless to say, the results are simple by nature so there is a certain amount of interpretation involved,
but the intent is to inspire creative ideas. In order to use these, you will have to answer some questions,
such as why the issuer wants the quest to be done and why the objective is currently located where it is.
A quick final note, you will see that you may start in one table and then be asked to use another table to
fill in more information. This is where it might be cumbersome as you will need to keep track of the
results for each table and pull them together into a single set.
