BISHOP FLORES SCHOLARS FUND: Important reminder: If you are in need of tuition assistance we
encourage you to go to Bishop Flores Scholars Tuition Assistance Program and apply.
Application forms are available online just go to http://www.bishopfloresscholars.org. Deadline
for applications is February 28th. Tuition assistance awards will be finalized March 23rd. Schools
and families will be notified via email late March or early April. Do not apply through FACTS!

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS OPEN HOUSE: We welcome all our St. Columba families, parishioners and
friends to join us Sunday, January 28th at 9:30 for this special Mass. Following Mass our School
Open House is from 10:30 – 12:00 pm. We invite you to visit our classrooms, preschool and
computer lab. Bring a family who might be interested in finding out more about our school, and
the gift that lasts a lifetime; Catholic Education. The American Red Cross will also be on campus
from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm for our 2nd annual blood drive. To schedule an appointment, visit

GRANDPARENTS DAY: To all our grandparents we welcome you to join us for this special day
Friday, February 2nd. The day will start with Mass at 8:15 am, followed by a Continental Breakfast
from 9:15 am - 9:45 until 10:15 grandparents will visit the classrooms. Student recess 10:15 – 10:30,
and from 10:45 – 11:45 we end the day with students performing a special program for our
grandparents. Reminder: So we can get an idea of approximately how many will be attending
our Continental Breakfast, please contact the office by Monday, January 29th. This is also a
minimum day, 12:00 dismissal. Extended care is available from 12:00 – 6:00 pm.

ST. COLUMBA SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR: Get ready for our Scholastic Book Fair. The book fair will
be opened starting January 28th through February 2nd. Help get more books in the hands of our
children and increase the teacher’s classroom libraries. Volunteers are needed for a variety of
tasks. Please contact Sonia Ortega; Ortega.sonia@att.net. or call the school office to sign up.

“BLACK & WHITE” GALA 2018: Gala 2018 is just around the corner! We welcome all our families,
parishioners, and friends to come join the fun Saturday, March 10th at the Four Points by
Sheraton located at 8110 Aero Drive from 6:00 – 11:00 pm. Important reminder: Tickets for the
drawing were sent home December 22nd with your child, and each family received 10 tickets to
sell. To help support this event and to make it a great success we need every family to commit
to purchasing these tickets so our goal can become a reality.
JAMBA JUICE SPORTS FUNDRAISER: Mark your calendar! Jamba Juice will be on campus Friday,
February 2nd after school. This fundraiser is to help support our sports program to raise funds for
new sports uniforms. Look for the flyer coming home today with your child.
8TH GRADE FUNDRAISER LUNCH: Friday, February 9th, the 8th grade is doing a special lunch fundraiser.
The lunch includes; pancit, fried rice & lumpia for $6.00 per lunch, extra lumpia 2 for $1.00. All orders
must be received by Monday, February 5th, no exceptions as food has to be pre-ordered. The
regular hot lunch will not be available that day. If your child does not order the fundraiser lunch for
February 9th, please make sure they bring their lunch. Look for the flyer coming home today with
your child.
