WHAT IS START?
STaRT(Student Talent Reward Test) is a knowledge and aptitude test to be conducted by
Resonance in order to reach out, spot, reward & nurture talented students from across the
country and aid them in fulfilling their career aspirations.

For an aspiring student, STaRT would provide national level benchmarking along with a real
world feel of competitive spirit. It helps the student to showcase his/her talent at the national
level which will boost his/her confidence to perform well in future competitive examinations &
make way for a bright career ahead.

Every year STaRT filters the country’s best talent through rigorous testing and has set examples
of transforming the top performers into IITians, Doctors and Commerce Professionals.

On 1st October 2017, 7th edition of STaRT examination was conducted.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

STaRT was conducted for the students of Class-VI to Class-XII of all boards and any medium in
Indian Territory and for schools outside India that are affiliated to CBSE Only.

Class VIII Class-XI (Commerce Stream)

STaRT comes this year, bestowed with magnanimous prizes and awards that are enhanced in

Adding another category to the already astounding awards, STaRT will give away two types of
awards and prizes to the students this year:

STaRT Awards will be given for total 11 Categories (Class 6th to 10th, 11th Mathematics, 11th
Biology, 11th Commerce, 12th Mathematics, 12th Biology & 12th Commerce).

OVERALL MARKS DISTRIBUTION

The paper consisted of two sections consisting of 80 single choice correct questions in total
which are as follows:

1) Conceptual Section: First 60 questions are from conceptual sections having relatively easy
questions requiring deep knowledge of the subject. Each question carry 3 marks if attempted
correctly while 1 mark would be deducted for wrong choice of options. No mark would be
deducted if the answer is not marked in Objective Response Sheet (ORS) for a particular
question.
2) Brilliance Section: Questions 61 to 80 are tricky and require extra effort from students to
solve. Each question carry 6 marks if attempted correctly while 2 mark would be deducted
for wrong choice of options. No mark would be deducted if the answer is not marked in
Objective Response Sheet (ORS) for a particular question.

OVERALL DIFFICULTY LEVEL ANALYSIS

In this analysis we have rated every question on a scale of 1 to 3. The ratings are done by
expert faculty of Resonance. The individual ratings are then averaged to calculate overall
difficulty level.
