COPY QUALITY
SUBJECT: Poor Copy Quality – SC350

SYmPTOM:
The image quality of copies is dark and overtoned. An SC350 (ID Sensor pattern Test Error) may also
occur.


MECHANICAL
CAUSE:
The transfer belt release lever is 180 degrees out of position. This prevents the transfer belt from releasing
from the drum during ID sensor patch development.

Incorrect Position Correct Position

NOTE: The Drive Gear has been removed for clarity in the above photographs.

SOLUTION:
Reposition the transfer belt release. With the transfer belt facing upward, pull up on the transfer belt release
lever and re-position the lever so the lever is positioned toward the electrical contacts, as shown in the
“Correct Position” photograph above.
