Dear Sirs,

RE: “WEIGHT OF CARGO WHEN MIXING DIFF.GRADES”

Due to the fact that vessel was loaded with ……. different grades and good cargo mixing/blending
on board is impossible and layering/stratification is unavoidable, the Density/S.G/API of the cargo
determined from samples drawn from ship’s cargo tanks is not accepted for determination of cargo
weight. The Density/S.G/API thus determined is considered for volumetric measurements only.

Under these circumstances, and as I am not allowed to make any remarks on the Bill of Lading,
I am signing same for the volumes only and I reserve the right of all parties concerned for any
difference in weight arising from the use of different Density/S.G/API .

For acknowledgement only

Signed . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Yours faithfully
