Context
After the data is imported, an NE and its Modify area node are generated in the
configuration tree. The NE does not have a Snapshot area node.
If you create an NE by importing data, the NE has only the Modify Area node. If you
create an NE by restoring data, the NE has the Modify Area node and/or the Snapshot
Area node. For the data restoration procedure, refer to 2.3 Restoring Data .

3-8
Context
In configuration management, a parameter of multiple NEs often needs to be set to the
same value. If you modify the NE data one by one, the configuration is inefficient and
time-consuming. Data configuration in batches is a convenient option for configuring the
parameters. All editable parameters can be modified in batches.
This procedure uses the operations for configuring the data of dry contact equipment on
an LTE FDD NE as an example to describe how to configure data in batches.
Steps
l Changing the data
l Method 1: In the Data Batch Configuration Management window, select
a column of data. The operations for modifying the data in the Dry contact
description column are used as an example.
1. Select the Dry contact description column by dragging the mouse, or
right-click a dry contact description in the Dry contact description column,
and select Select Column from the shortcut menu.
2. Click (Modify), or right-click the selected column of data, and select Modify
from the shortcut menu. The Modify dialog box is displayed, see Figure 4-1.
4-1
Note:
à The data highlighted in grey cannot be changed. The data highlighted in
white can be changed. The data highlighted in pink has been changed
but not yet submitted to the database.
à You cannot change data in a line or multiple columns at one time.
l Method 2: Copy the data in multiple records to a local file, where the data is
changed, and then paste the data to the Data Batch Configuration Management
window. The operations for modifying the data in the Is customized dry contact
alarm column are used as an example.
1. Select the Is customized dry contact alarm column by dragging the mouse,
or right-click a record in the Is customized dry contact alarm column, and
select Select Column from the shortcut menu.
2. Right-click the selected data, and select Copy True Value to Clipboard from
the shortcut menu.
3. Open a local data file. Right-click the blank area in the file, and select Paste
to paste the copied data in a local file.
4. Change the data. For example: change all “0” to “1”.
5. Select all the changed data and right-click them. Select Copy from the
shortcut menu.
4-2
6. Select the Is customized dry contact alarm column. Right-click the selected
data and select Paste from Clipboard to paste the data from the clipboard
to the table, see Figure 4-3.
Copy True Value to Copies the data saved in the database that are
Clipboard identical with the NE-side data.
Paste from Clipboard Pastes the content from the clipboard to the table.
Drop-down Paste multiple columns To display this check box, click on the tool bar.
menu l If this check box is selected, multiple columns
of data can be changed when the data is
pasted.
l If this check box is not selected, only the
current column of data can be changed when
the data is pasted.
Add header when copy To display this check box, click on the tool bar.
data l If this check box is selected, the table header
is pasted with the data.
l If this check box is not selected, the table
header is not pasted with the data.
4-3
Note:
If the changed data contains any illegal data, all the changed data cannot be saved
successfully. The data can be saved only when all the modified data are legal.
a. Click the icon. The Customize Display Columns dialog box is displayed.
b. From the Available Items area, select a required item, and click Add ( ).
Note:
You can click Add All ( ) to add all the items to the Selected Items area.
4-4
c. Click OK.
– End of Steps –
Steps
1. On the Configuration Management tab, select Configuration Management > Data
Comparison Between Snapshot Area and Modify Area from the menu. The Data
Comparison Between Snapshot Area and Modify Area window is displayed.
2. Select the NEs whose data you want to compare, and click . The Select Compare
Type dialog box is displayed, see Figure 4-4.
Note:
l Fast Compare (Only compare Last Modified Time): Compares the data in the
snapshot area and the modify area generated at the last modification.
l Full-text comparison (Compare all the parameters except Last Modified
Time): Compares all object parameters in the snapshot area and the modify
area.
3. Select the comparison type and click OK. The data compare task starts. The data
compare progress is displayed.
4. After the data comparison completes, double-click a result record to view the detailed
comparison information, see Figure 4-5.

If the data in NE snapshot area and that in the modify area are not identical, you can
execute the data synchronization to synchronize the EMS-side data to the NE side.
For the operations, refer to 2.4 Synchronizing Data.
4-6
Note:
If the current MO record can be modified, the button is highlighted. If the current
MO record cannot be modified, the button is in grey.

Context
The operation of deleting NEs in batches is used in site cutover. Because a verification
code must be entered every time you want to delete an NE, the operation is rather
complicated. Deleting NEs in batches can improve the site cutover efficiency.
The purpose of saving the data in the snapshot area to the modify area of NEs is to restore
the original data in the modify area, which provides convenience for data maintenance.
Prerequisite
l You have applied for the mutex right of the NE.
l Before the modify area data is restored, a snapshot area must be generated. After
the data is synchronized or data is uploaded to the EMS from NEs, the snapshot area
is generated automatically.
Steps
l Delete NEs in batches.
a. On the Configuration Management tab, select Configuration Management >
Batch NEs Operation from the menu. The Batch NEs Operation dialog box is
displayed, see Figure 4-7.
4-7
b. Select the NEs that you want to delete in the configuration tree.
c. Click Delete. A dialog box is displayed, prompting you to enter the verification
code.
d. Enter the verification code, and click OK.
The executed results are displayed in the right pane of the Batch NEs Operation
dialog box.
l Restore the modify area data in batches.
a. Select the NEs that you want to restore the modify area data in batches in the
Batch NEs Operation dialog box.
b. Click Restore Modify Area from Snapshot Area. A dialog box is displayed,
prompting you to enter the verification code.
c. Enter the verification code, and click OK.
The executed results are displayed in the right pane of the Batch NEs Operation
dialog box.

2. Select the conditions for filtering NEs in the NE filter tree in the left pane. Set the
Subnework ID and NE ID.
Note:
l To set Subnetwork ID and NE ID, you can enter ID directly or enter the ID range.
For example, the ID range “0–3, 4, 5” indicates the ID is from 0 to 3, 4, and 5.
l When the values in the subnetwork ID and NE ID text boxes are set, if the text
box is highlighted in green, the entered value is valid. If the text box is highlighted
in red, the entered values are invalid.
6-7
Note:
The system records the filter that has been created. When the NE Filter dialog box is
displayed, the filter name can be viewed in the History area.

Context
You can compare two object nodes of the same type in the Managed Element trees
that belong to two NEs, or compare the snapshot area and modify area of one NE. This
procedure uses the modify areas of the BS8700$22[L] and BS8700$23[L] as an example.
Steps
1. Expand the configuration management tree.

Dry contacts refer to passive floated mechanical contact switches, with close and open
status. When an external device (for example, air conditioner) is connected to a dry
contact, the abnormal status of the external device can be displayed on the EMS in dry
contact alarm mode. You only need to set and monitor the dry contact.
Prerequisite
l The NEs are created.
l You have applied for the mutex right of the NEs.
6-10
Context
This procedure describes in detail how to create, modify, query, and delete dry contacts in
Graphical User Interface (GUI) mode.
The Site Alarm (SA), Site Alarm Extender (SE), and Fan Control Element (FCE) boards,
and Remote Radio Unit (RRU) support the dry contact function. The number of available
dry contacts varies with different boards. For the description of the boards and the number
of dry contacts supported by the boards, refer to Table 6-2.

After an NE and RRU are created, the system automatically creates 16 dry contacts for
the SA node and four dry contacts for the RRU node. This procedure uses dry contact
configuration for LTE FDD NEs as an example. For the configuration description in GUI
