Based on our survey, 38.7% of the population is using paper always. Also, 38.

7% said
they only use paper sometimes. Most of the students say they use eleven to fifteen sheets of
paper within a month. At least twenty one to twenty five sheets of paper within a month are
used. These papers are mostly used in writing. This is because our respondents are students.
The average tearing strength of our product is 4 which means very tough. 23 out of 62
students said that our product is highly thick, while 4 out of students rate the thickness of our
product as highly thin. The texture of our product has an average rating of 4 which stands for
very rough. 25 students said that our product is highly acceptable in the market while 4
students said that it is highly unacceptable in the market. 45.2% of the strongly agreed that our
product can be used as an alternative material for paper. While 3.2% of the population
strongly disagreed that our product can be used as an alternative material for paper. Overall,
our product’s rating is 3.94. This result may be due to the lack of variations of our product such
as designs, fragrance, and colors.
24 students said that they are always using paper, and some also say they only use paper
sometimes. 1 student said that he/she never uses paper.

This chart shows that most students use paper for writing and drawing purposes. They
rarely use it as scratch and for scrapbooking purposes.

43.5% of the population said that our product is highly tough and 1.6% said that our
product is highly soft.

The average rating of our product’s thickness is 3.8 with 37.1% of the students voted it as
highly thick and 6.5% voted it as highly thin.

Mostly students voted highly rough as the texture of the product and three students
voted for it as low as one which stands for highly thin. The product’s average rating in terms of
texture is 4.
An average of 3.9 was received by our group in terms of its acceptability in the market. 25
students voted for it as highly acceptable and 4 students voted for highly unacceptable.

28 students strongly agreed that the product can be used as an alternative material for
paper; 2 students strongly disagreed that the product can be used as an alternative material
for paper which gives it an average rating of 4.

Mostly students suggest that our product can also be made for writing purposes. At least
14 students suggest that it can also be made for crafting.

40.3% of the total population recommends that we should add designs to our product.

Based on the results of the study, our product received an overall rating of 3.94 or 4.
Therefore, our product is acceptable and can be used as an alternative material for making
paper. This also shows that there is no significant difference between the commercialized
paper and the paper made from Ananas comosus fiber.

The experimental method of research was used for this study. The type of sampling
technique that the researchers used was stratified random sampling wherein the population is
divided into smaller groups. In choosing the respondents, the systematic way of sampling was
used by the researchers wherein every 5th student was selected. A total of 62 respondents from
Grades 4 to 6 were selected.
Before the survey was conducted, a letter has been sent to the school principal requesting
for permission to conduct a survey. The researchers also spoke to the subject teacher
regarding the schedule of the survey.
