Title: TO DESIGN, TEST AND DEVELOP A WIRELESS IOT MULTI-PURPOSE SCOREBOARD

BACKGROUND
In every sport, the transparency of scores is essential in order to determine the winners of each
respective event. This transparency is possible by using scoreboards that display the vital data all
throughout the game. Due to the importance of scoreboard, it has evolved from being manually
operated to electronically operated which not all institution had availed. One of those institution is
Central Philippine University which still adapts manual operated scoreboards. Due to the use of manual
operated scoreboards in the CPU gymnasium, it limits the transparency of scores and data not only to
the players but as well as to the audience. Because of this, the Wireless IOT Multi-Purpose Scoreboard is
designed, tested and developed.

METHODOLOGY
The Wireless IOT Multi-Purpose Scoreboard is a system which composes of a PC that acts as a
controller to which one can input or alter data such as the names and scores of both teams, etc. The
controller PC will be installed with an appropriate software which can provide selections for four sports
namely, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton and Sepak Takraw. The entered data will then be wirelessly
projected to a screen by using casting which is possible with the use of Raspberry Pi. At the same time, it
will be uploaded to a particular website intended for the scoreboard system. The components such as
the PC and the screen will be connected in a network provided by a router.
