Dated Aizawl, the 26th August, 2008.

No.A.32013/33/2004– P&AR(GSW) Dated Aizawl, the 26th August, 2008 :Attention is drawn
to this Department`s Office Memorandum issued vide No.A.12023/37/86-P&AR(C) dt.
10.11.1989 in regard to duties and responsibilities of Deputy Director(Admn.) posted to
various Departments, Govt. of Mizoram. Inspite of clear instructions in the said O.M., it is
noticed that some Heads of Departments are not aware of the duties and responsibilities of
Deputy Director(Admn.) posted under them. It is hereby reiterated that the following will be
the duties, functions and responsibilities of Deputy Director (Admn) posted to various
Departments-

1. It shall be the duties and responsibilities of Deputy Director (Admn.) to assist


the Head of Departments in exercising powers for proper control of discipline
and effective supervision over the staff in the Department.
2. It shall also be his duties and responsibilities to assist the Head of Department in
ensuring proper application of various Rules and Regulations procedural
instructions with regard to establishment matters, viz. appointments, transfer,
leave maintenance of Service Books, Pension cases of the staff etc. under the
Department.
3. It shall also be his duties and responsibilities to assist the Head of Departments
directly in office management including Indent, purchase of stationery articles,
arrangement of accommodation, etc.
4. It shall further be his duties and responsibilities to assist the Head of
Department in the matter of Departmental cases/disciplinary actions.
5. All cases relating to the above mentioned subjects shall be submitted to Head of
Department through Deputy Director (Admn.)

In addition to above, he shall also perform other duties whatever assigned to


him by the Heads of Department.

All Heads of Department concerned should ensure that the order was
implemented in their Department for more effective functioning and standards of
administration of the Department.
