Job Description
Position Summary :
The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care
provided to a group of patients. This nurse leads the nursing team members in the
care as directed by the attending physician and in collaboration with other health
care providers in accordance with the philosophy and policies of ProMedica
Acute Care Hospitals. Actively participates in the creation of an environment that
fosters patient, family, physician and employee satisfaction. Ensures decisions
made are based on patient and family centered care philosophy utilizing evidenced
based practices, and focused on safety, customer satisfaction, and quality
outcomes.
Unit Summary :
The Hemodialysis Unit is a 10 bed specialty treatment area. The typical patient
ratio is 3:1 or 2:1 based on patient volume. Hemodialysis RN's administer beside
treatments to complex ICU and progressive patients; at this time it would become
a 1:1 patient to RN ratio. This unit treats a diverse patient population with acute
and chronic renal failure patients and chronic outpatients. Nurses in our
Hemodialysis unit perform a highly technical procedure and utilize highly
technical equipment. It is an autonomous practice and nurse's experience flexible
scheduling.
Scope of Service: The Registered Nurse provides nursing care to individuals and
groups which require specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill derived from the
principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, spiritual/cultural, and nursing
sciences. The Registered Nurse functions within the full scope of nursing practice
as noted by the Board of Nursing of their designated state for which they are
practicing in addition to compliance with any of the hospitals accrediting bodies.

Position Summary :
NaphCare has an exceptional opportunity for a Hemodialysis RN to join our
healthcare team at Graham Correctional Center located in Hillsboro, IL. This
position provides chronic hemodialysis care and treatment, develops nursing plans
involving assessment, planning and implementation, evaluation, training and
education; communicates with the physician and other members of the healthcare
team to interpret, adjust and complete patient care plans and assists in research
studies. The Hemodialysis RN provides safe, effective delivery of age specific
patient care as overseen in compliance with standards and regulations.
Position Requirements :
Must hold and maintain a current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the
state of employment, as well as a valid CPR certification, with a minimum of 2
years clinical experience as a Hemodialysis Staff RN in a healthcare setting, with
correctional healthcare experience preferred.
Performance Expectations :
 Demonstrate applicable knowledge of policies and procedures related to
the position.
 Demonstrate an ability to perform technical skills including patient
treatment, water treatment facility and emergency procedures.
 Assist with and perform all procedures of safe operation, disinfection, and
inventory control according to policy, manufacturer recommendation, and
regulatory agency guidelines.
 Assume administrative duties under direction.
 Additional duties and specific projects as assigned.

Description :
Providence is calling a Registered Nurse to its Hemodialysis team at
Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital in Hood River, OR. This is a on-
call/per diem position. You will have visibility to available shifts at least 4 weeks
in advance. Hours available will be 12 hour shifts (from 5:30am-6pm, Monday,
Wednesdays, and Fridays only).
This position will serve as vacation and other time off coverage. You may also fill
in for available Technician hours.
In this position, you will :
 Provide professional, comprehensive nursing care for patients in an acute
care environment.
 Be accountable for the delivery of coordinated, safe, compassionate,
therapeutic, evidence-based quality care to patients and families, based on
individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and appropriate care
strategies throughout the lifespan.
 Practice in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act in the state of
employment, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics for
Nurses, and the ANA scope and standards of practice.
Qualifications :
Required qualifications for this position include :
 Nursing degree/diploma required upon hire
 All Registered Nurses (RNs) without a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in
nursing must obtain a bachelor’s degree in nursing or higher within 3 years
of hire.
 A RN with 20 years of RN experience will not be required to obtain a
Bachelor's degree in nursing
 Unencumbered RN license in Oregon and wherever care is delivered
 If RN holds a multistate license through the Nurse Licensure Compact
(NLC), the RN must adhere to the requirements of licensure in the new
state(s) of hire.
 Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card must be from the following
authorized governing bodies: American Heart Association (AHA) - (BLS
Provider), American Red Cross (ARC) - (BLS for Health Care Provider),
or Military Training Network (MTN) – (Healthcare Provider) upon hire.
 12 months of acute care experience working with the patient population
similar to the Hemodialysis -or- completion of the specialty residency
located at Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital
Preferred qualifications for this position include :
Bachelor's degree in nursing
National Certification in Hemodialysis **preferred unless otherwise indicated
