Alarm on the fast

The Lamentations in their fast
The recommended fast
The Ultimate result of the fast

ALARM ON THE FAST

- V.2. The believers have sinned and attention is called to them.
Earnest in prayer
Earnest in seeking God
Earnest in reading the word

~BUT~
- Exploit workers
- Quarreling

Cf Ephesians 4:29-30 our speech should be with grace....not to grieve the Holy Spirit.

THE LAMENTATIONS
V.3
- They complained that God doesn't seem to answer or notice them.

Why?
They are not sincere.
Fasting is not a show

Cf Luke 18:9-14 The prayer of a proud Pharisee

Turn around and have the right attitude; it's about the heart.

THE RECOMMENDED FAST

VS. 6-7;9-10;13
God says what it does - the IMPACT.
John 15:1 - Pruning of vines to yield more fruit.
- The type doesn't matter, but it's about submission to God. Personal transformation to yield fruit of the Holy
Spirit Cf Galatians 5

Galatians 2:20 subduing our flesh, selfishness is broken. We're concerned about the poor and our family
members to stop especially the neglect of parents.

V.S 8-12
- New experiences: light will break forth from you, darkness will tremble
- Healing in our life's Cf Isaiah 60:1
- God will answer our prayers
- God will speak and remind you of His presence
- Continuelly guide and provide Cf Psalm 23
- Strengthen your frame as you fast
- Jump starting of stalled projects
- You will experience Joy in the Lord

SUMMARY
Fasting must position me first to impact others.

Fasting is a call to:

Turn from sin.
Humbling oneself before God.
Choose to pursue what is right
