To Whom It May Concern,

I have known Taylor Hoey for the four years that she has been in the Wesleyan College Education
Program. I have taught her in several classes. I have served as her scholarship research advisor and I
have come to know her as a friend. All of my experiences with Taylor confirm that she is, and will be, an
outstanding teacher.

She is a recipient of the Findlay Fellowship, one of Wesleyan’s most prestigious scholarships. Findlay
scholars must present a research project on a topic of importance to their area of study. Taylor has
presented on the Reggio Emilia approach to education, visiting an associated school in Atlanta, Georgia
to conduct interviews and make observations. She has also completed research on therapeutic
wilderness camping, visiting a boys’ camp and girls’ camp in South Carolina. Last year her research was
on the history of Native American education in the United States. She will continue the Native American
education theme in her upcoming research presentation. Her research has been thorough, interesting
and well-presented.

Wesleyan College has a summer program for children called Kids’ College. It has a different educational
theme each summer, but kids also get a heavy dose of creative play. Taylor has served as an
instructor/counselor in this program for two years, serving as a STEM teacher both summers.

Taylor has also been active in campus activities at Wesleyan. She has served as the president of Student
Recreational Council. She also serves on the Arboretum Committee, along with faculty and staff
members.

When Taylor graduates from Wesleyan College in May 2018 she will qualify for a Georgia professional
teaching certificate in Early Childhood Education (PK-5). She will also be intellectually and emotionally
prepared to begin a career of making a difference in the lives of children. She will be an asset to any
school where she is hired. I give my unqualified professional support to her. If you have any questions
regarding Taylor’s qualifications, please call me at 478-461-7362.

Sincerely,

Patrick Pritchard
