On Friday after the conference wraps up, we are offering a trip to The Rockingham Speedway (a.k.a. ‘The Rock’).
Rockingham has hosted Automobile Racing Club of America and USAR Hooters Pro Cup series races since 2008.
Currently, the track (which is owned by new track owner Andy Hillenburg) is home to the Buck Baker Driving
School and the Fast Track High Performance Driving School – and is used extensively for NASCAR testing.

Well worth an afternoon stroll, the Sandhills Gardens are open from dawn to dusk year-round. The 32-acre gardens
were designed and are maintained by students in the Landscape Gardening program. The site contains 14 themed
gardens where you may find children playing in the whimsical Children’s Garden, a student relaxing on a bench
while studying by the Fountain Courtyard, or a wedding in progress in the Formal Gardens. For more information,
