Cyber extortion

In a new technological age criminals have sought new ways to do their misdeeds so in that
search they started to use the technology to be more accurate the use of the Internet, they
saw a big advantage in the internet, the anonymity and also the boom of the internet
therefore the criminals began to attack or threat of attack against enterprises but then also
began to commit crime against users despite of high efforts few criminals have even been
found and sentenced to prison, cyber extortion a large problem that has not been
thoroughly taken into account and which generates millions of dollars annually to the
extortionists.

Do you know what an extortionist is?

Have you ever suffered from any form of harassment?

Which security measures have you taken?

Are you aware that there are people dedicated to persuade people to get something?

Do you think that people should take more seriously certain security measures to use
social media?

Why do you think women and children are more vulnerable to extortion?
Conclusions

After reviewing all the answers of our respondents, we reached several conclusions.

The first one was that some of them don’t consider necessary security measures in social
networks, mostly men.

However women are more careful with adding or accepting people, which does not
happen with men. Also men feel at lower risk of suffering some kind of extortion.

Another important thing that we found is that some girls at some point in their lifes they
have suffered harassment or have felt harassed by someone.

The most common measure of prevention was to block those users who harassed. Only in
one case had to intervene police.
